Made a Chrome extension that shows restaurant health grades on Google Maps

Hey everyone!

Ever showed up to a place that looks good but has a C grade? 😅 I built a Chrome extension that shows the health grade right on Google Maps.

It works by pulling data from the NYC Open Data API and displays the grade (A, B, C, etc.) directly on the restaurant's Google Maps page. You can hover over the grade to see inspection details like the score, date, and any violations.

The extension only works for NYC restaurants (it checks the address & name), so it won't clutter up results for places outside the city.
