My Chocolate Reapers finally produced fruit – and I didn't even see it coming! It was underneath a leaf. I have 10 strains going and this was the last one to appear. And it was a bear to germinate too.

Big thanks to this sub for providing me with so much info and also showing me what else there is out there to grow. This is the first year we have done this and I could not have been more amused by all the freaky weird shapes these peppers take.

I grow in a 9b zone so my plants survive winter.

I can confirm that germination of chocolate reapers takes forever. Then they grow slow, flower slow, and ripen slowly. My first harvest was unimpressive HOWEVER all of my subsequent harvests have been outlandishly abundant. My chocolate reaper plant is a huge bush that cranks out pounds and pounds of beautiful chocolate reapers.

I find the chocolate reapers to be noticeably hotter than regular reapers.

Burn it. Burn it immediately before it burns you!! I got some earlier this year, holy shit they are a quick way to ruin pints of hot honey 🔥🥵🤣
