Plot twist, this isn’t ice cream. This is actually the thickest Greek yogurt I’ve ever made. I’m going to cut up a slice just to show you how thick it is. So thick. I’m using FA’s 5% Greek yogurt, but you can really use any Greek yogurt with whole milk. I popped my yogurt into my Bare Greeks yogurt strainer. And essentially what I’m looking to do is separate the liquid whey from the solid yogurt. All of the yogurt will compile onto the pressure plate here, and it looks phenomenal. I’m doing a slightly different flavoring this time and I’m topping off each scoop of Greek yogurt with homemade orange syrup. And finally, a dash of crushed pistachios. This is true citrusy goodness. People say this liquid way is actually really good for you. So, let’s try it. It’s really sour. I think this is where all the sourness went. Actually, I’m good. I’m good.

is there something you can do with the squeezed out liquid in baking? can you try adding it to other dishes?
Add the whey to smoothies, get your protein boost!
that looks so good!!
That yogurt has an 8 pack 😒
How long does that whole block last u?
Use the whey instead of liquid in pancakes – traditional Russian recipes. In fact you can replace any liquid in most dough/batter recipes with whey. It has lots of protein and vitamins
This is basically labneh
What my mum always does with that leftover whey is that she binds the dough with it and adds the leftover whey in to the roti dough( kind of indian bread)
I can immediately think of at least 20 ways to use that product and if I had some more time, the options would likely be endless. It really looks to have an unusual & magnificent texture.
If you don't care for the whey and you have a dog, I'm pretty he (and his gut microbiome) would likely love it. I remember reading whey from cheese making and yougurt straining is often fed to farm animals as an inexpensive but incredibly nutritious food source.
I'm really grateful for this video. I'll be making this soon!
Wait so is the thick yogurt sweeter? or you just need to add flavor?
yeah but it has no flavor lmao
Your reaction drinking the whey was so funny 😂
Definitely doesn't seem too tasty but it seems like a good thing to add to smoothies and such to get an extra protein boost ❤
Looks good 💯😊
U could actually just beat the yogurt and add a lot of stuff.. Like strawberry… Elaich.. Mango puree.. Etc
. We call it shrikhand… In India..
I’m crying yall eating labneh as ice cream now? 😭
Where did you get that bear Greek yogurt strainer?
u can use that whey as souring agent for sinigang
❤️ love
What can you do with the liquid besides eat it?
There's a Swiss drink called Rivella. It's a carbonated drink made of whey, the part you just separated. For those who want to try it, if you didn't know what it was made of, it tastes closer to apple juice. Maybe if you dilute it a bit and add some sugar and maybe even carbonate it, it might be something you'd enjoy and less food waste!
Eating labneh as ice cream is such western thing to do 😭😭 you do you but it’s bizarre.
Use the whey in baking as a replacement for water
The gas that would give me…
I want to try it tho
It's yogurt cheese
8-pack 💪🏻
If you cook the whey it turns into Ricotta Cheese.
Fage: “fayay “
There is a similar dairy product in Russia that is called tvorog. I like eating it with toppings as you but I also add some sour cream and honey. You can also use it for your pastries to make them softer and juicer just find the right recipe. My grandma makes out of this syrnikis that look like little pancakes and taste absolutely amazing
