I used the amounts in the recipe and this is all I got. Nowhere near the 1/2” headspace. What do I do? Add water? Add more apples? But I assume they’d need cooked down

    This won’t help you right now, but one reason to shoot for a cannerload rather than a single jar in the future is that you are likely to have enough product to allow for appropriate headspace in at least some of your jars.

    In the meantime, yes, pints.

    This could have been me last week! I was in that exact scenario (even have the same trivet! Haha).

    I was expecting to have two quarts and ended up doing one quart and one pint ish, the head space may have been a bit off. It mostly worked but man the siphoning in the water bath made a big sticky mess in my kitchen when I took the jars out of the canner
