Grew up in LA. Just recently had The Hat at the Brea location for the first time in awhile. The Pastrami chili cheese fries were bland. No flavor. Chili seemed like it wasn’t seasoned. Pastrami was good though.

I used to be a regular when I had a Hat near me, and I sure miss it. It’s so nice to see that they haven’t fallen off like so many other chains have.
A pastrami dip, wet fries, and an iced tea would put me right to bed.

Love the hat. One of my favorite pastrami sandwiches. Probably just my bias because I grew up on the west coast but The Hat is everything a hot pastrami should be. A huge pile of very thin shaved pastrami. It makes the meat much more tender and the sandwich keeps its integrity better. You arent constantly pulling out huge slices of pastrami with each bite. I had a pastrami from Katz recently and was just so disappointed by all the hype. It tasted good but just couldn’t get over the thick slices.
