I have a bottle of 1982 pomerol that I purchased from a reputable wine store’s cellar sale a few years ago and have kept in a wine fridge since. This was the state of the bottle when I removed the foil cap & I found mold on the fridge wall where it was stored. Is this safe to drink? How could I pour it safely? TIA!

Yup, I’ve had lots of wines that had mold on the cork. Clean it off as best you can, be careful pulling the cork since it’ll probably try to fall apart on you, then wipe down the rim of the neck just to get any crud from the surface and just inside the neck.
Safe to drink yes but the wine is fucked up I guess
Very typical for there to be mold under the foil cap (even if you can’t see it). Doesn’t suggest anything wrong at all.
Remove the cork very carefully and clean the top of the neck (not necessarily in that order).
Oh, and be sure to update…
If possible, buy a Durand (or a cheaper knockoff) to get the cork out in one piece. If you are going to open old bottles more often, great investment.
I’ve opened several bottles with capsules presenting like the one pictured and they’ve been fine.
