The Carrabba’s Italian Grill in Henrietta has closed permanently, according to a voicemail message at its phone number and a sign on the door.
The casual chain restaurant specializing in Italian-American cuisine opened at 3340 West Henrietta Road in 2006.
The location was part of an expansion throughout the northeast for the chain, founded in 1986 by Johnny Carrabba III and Damian Mandola in Houston, Texas.
A spokesperson for parent company Bloomin’ Brands wrote in an email: “Closing a restaurant is never easy. This was a business decision that is not a reflection of the management or staff. Some employees will have the opportunity to transfer to a sister concept. All team members will receive a transition bonus. We appreciate the community’s support over the past 19 years.”
Other Carrabba’s closings
On Oct. 27, a Kansas City Carrabba’s closed, according to the Kansas City Business Journal, as did one in North Palm Beach, Florida, on Sept. 28, The Palm Beach Post reported.
The Post noted Fortune’s report last year that Bloomin’ Brands announced it would shutter dozens of underperforming restaurants across its portfolio, which also includes Outback Steakhouse, Bonefish Grill and Fleming’s.
The Henrietta Carrabba’s was the only one in the Rochester market.
What about Carrabba’s gift cards?
Carrabba’s gift cards can sometimes be used at other Bloomin’ Brands restaurants.
If you have a gift card, check the back to see where it can be redeemed.
If the card was only good for Carrabba’s, Bloomin’ Brands will exchange it for a multi-brand card after the Carrabba’s card and its balance are validated. The contact email is giftcfardteam@blominbrands.com.
