Hoover-based SNAP recipients can pick up non-perishable food starting today, on Nov. 1.

The Hoover Public Library is distributing food from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The library is giving five items per day per individual, along with small plastic bags of additional food.

The library has kept a small food pantry since 2023, but an Oct. 30 request garnered an outpouring of donations, according to a news release.

The library is located at 200 Municipal Drive in Hoover. Interested volunteers or people seeking more information should contact Lawana Rooks by calling (205) 444-7588.
