Grew up with the classic kettle, Dad was my teacher. Went to Weber gas, now full circle back to charcoal.
On a side note, how many lights do you all get off one LP tank on the Performers?

If it’s filled up I would say I get 15-20 lights if I keep em around 4/5 min.

Charcoal is like the stick shift of cooking. It’s just better in every way and nobody is insufferable about it.

I ended up getting a small 5lb tank and a 6’hose to connect. The tank lasts forever

That Grill is looking pretty new. I think you should be worried about that, then how much you going to get out of a tank of propane. Get cooking/baking whatever!!!

I still use a chimney with the igniter. Chimney is a lot faster than using the baskets

as someone said, use the chimney to light (or the lighter into a chimney). it’s much faster.
i’ve forgotten how long my lighter works for on a full tank because it broken at about year 11, just after the cut off. i’d buy parts but the chimney works much more efficiently and faster.
