Salt, pepper, garlic powder rub. Charcoal smoked at around 275 for 3 hours. Braised in beef bone broth along with veggies at 275 for 3 hours. So good and really easy to do

What’s the outcome here? Do you break everything down all together like pulled pork or does the meat and produce serve separately? Looks utterly deliciously

Was it fall off the bone?

What do you mean by braised in beef bone broth? You boil it after smoking?
EdVenture42
How long did you smoke it for?

Man, I was just talking about wanting to try to smoke oxtails last night. Thought they might need to be braised after. I’m thinking a Jamaican profile for the braise. Thanks for the time and temps!

I made oxtails someone gave me from a side of beef they bought once and honestly i was not a huge fan. Great flavor but had a bit of a strange texture to me, maybe it was in my head.
Id try them again but im damn sure not paying $10/lb or whatever they charge for them in the store

I love em but they are expensive as hell for the amount of meat you get. Prices on low end cuts are just outrageous now.

Pho place near me does an oxtail pho. Dear lord, it’s heaven in a bowl. We have a new BBQ place that does oxtail sandwiches, but I haven’t made it out yet.

yeah they’re gas

That looks amazing. Unfortunately that amount of oxtail would be about 60$ where I live

If you have access to beef cheeks you may also like those as well

It used to be one of my favorite things too when it was $1 a pound.

Yeah, you and everyone else. That’s why they’re so expensive now.
