We know that many in our Jacket family are impacted by the recent pause in SNAP benefits, and our school community is here to help. During the week of November 3-7, SOCSD will host a Carpool Food Drive to benefit families that are directly impacted by the loss of benefits. Families who can are invited to bring non-perishable food items to morning carpool drop-off during the week to be used for food boxes. Schools will have personnel on duty to receive donations, or students may place donations in bins provided as they walk into school. Families who have student car drivers or bus transportation may drop off donations at the school office or Greensboro Center during school hours.
If you are a SOCSD staff member or student family who has been directly impacted by the loss of SNAP benefits (or you know of a family who has) and you would like to receive a food box or other resources, please contact Haley Montgomery, Director of Communications at hmontgomery@starkvillesd.com or 662.615.0021 or by cell or text to 662.312.4001.
Any information shared will be handled confidentially and respectfully. The Jacket Family cares, and we are here to support one another through this challenging season.
