A restaurant in the New Forest that’s featured in the Michelin Guide has been described as a “lovely” spot and a “hidden gem”.

Hartnett Holder & Co is an eatery that is located within the Lime Wood Hotel in Lyndhurst.

The team, led by chefs Angela Hartnett and Luke Holder, creates seasonal, locally-sourced dishes.

Its website shares: “Hartnett Holder & Co is a relaxed and comfortable restaurant – full of character and relaxed in style.”

The menu has a focus on Italian-influenced dishes, which pulls together the “much-admired signature styles” of both chefs.

In its profile on the Michelin Guide, the publication describes it as a “lovely restaurant” that’s housed in an “impressive light stone mansion”.

The write-up adds: “Take a seat in the glass-roofed bar and kick things off with a cocktail from their extensive list.

“The rustic cooking leans heavily into the ingredient-led ethos of Italian cuisine, with both Angela Harnett and Luke Holder (who is more often the one in the kitchen) bringing their considerable experience to proceedings.”

Opening times for the restaurant are 12pm-2pm (Monday to Sunday) and 12pm-2.30pm for lunch service.

Meanwhile, dinner service is from 6pm to 9pm Monday to Sunday.
