Where to get cheese cocktails in Louisville

Two new cocktails in Louisville incorporate cheese into their drinks. Here’s where to try them and what’s in them.

After 15 years in business, a well-known Italian restaurant in Louisville’s Clifton neighborhood is closing at the end of 2025.

DiFabio’s Casapela, 2311 Frankfort Ave., will shut its doors for the final time at the end of the year, the restaurant announced via a Facebook post on Nov. 2.

“After 15 years of serving the best customers there are, we have made the difficult decision to close our doors at the end of this year,” stated the announcement.

The beloved restaurant will also be open during the holiday season, including the day before Thanksgiving, on Wednesday, Nov. 25, and Christmas Eve. New Year’s Eve will mark DiFabio’s final day of operation.

The post noted that, “our food freezes well if you would like to place any carryout orders.”

Caity DiFabio and her husband, Jon Riley, have been the restaurant’s owners and operators since 2012, according to a Courier Journal story published in 2021.

DiFabio’s parents founded the business in 1995, when the original location opened Madisonville. They moved DiFabio’s to Frankfort Avenue in 2010.

Favorites on the menu include chicken Parmesan, escargot, caprese pasta, stuffed mushrooms, shrimp scampi, gorgonzola filet, and chicken piccata.

“Although we will miss our wonderful clientele and excellent staff, we are excited about the future and what new adventures we will discover,” the Facebook post concluded. “So come on out and support us for these last (two) months and hopefully we will sell out of food and drinks.”

DiFabio’s is open 5-9 p.m. Thursday, 5-10 p.m. Friday-Saturday and 5-9 p.m. Sunday.
