I tried it over the weekend and wasn’t particularly impressed. It had a lot more of a sardine-ish flavor than I expected. I tried it on it’s own. I think it would be a lot better served on rice or something like that.

not to hijack this, but you gotta buy some lao gan ma from your local chinese grocery. it’s cheap and tastes fantastic. just add yr own fish, haha

That, on top of some rice and a couple ounces of sautéed, stir fry mix, frozen veggies is my default, “don’t want to cook” meal.

I get it when it’s on sale. Usually do it over rice. Should give Wildfish Cannery a try. They have great selection of smoked salmon.

Lol. I mean like what you like, and glad you had a good experience OP, but “World’s tastiest tinned fish”?! This isn’t even the tastiest tinned fish I’ve had this week, and that’s not even taking into account Fishwife’s absurd pricing model.

  6. One of me most favorite treats. Wish I’d’ve had that tin instead of the Bumble Bee Smoked Coho I just et for lunch today.

    How much did it cost?

ETA – just checked Amazon out of curiosity. Price was $14.99 for one box – which is $4.68 per oz. Price it as a per lb basis and it’s almost $75/lb!!!

I feel bad that you have had such a limited experience with canned fish. I would recommend branching out more.

“Best thing I’ve ever eaten!” 🙄

  10. No one will ever convince me that Fishwife isn’t using Reddit, this subreddit specifically, for “guerilla marketing” purposes.

  11. Best thing you’ve ever eaten huh. Calm down bucko

I never thought I’d see canned fish drama, but this sub vs. Fishwife has been riveting.

Is Fishwife really worth it? It’s so expensive, and I feel like I can accomplish a lot of the same flavors by adding my own ingredients to other TF.

I’ve had canned smoked Alaskan salmon before and this was expensive and disappointing

i’m usually immune to the fishwife lure but goddamnit these look good

I actually like the regular better than the chili crisp. I like the sweetness of it.

That’s like 70 bucks a pound! Just buy Otoro and save some money. Or a tuna head!

    World’s most triggering tinned fish!
