This isn’t mall sushi. You’ve got to be at an Asian grocery store or in a Chinatown neighborhood. 😂

I gotta tell you something. Here in Canada there is a food court sushi called bento express or something. And as a sushi connoisseur….. Ive don’t know what it is but it always hits the spot for some reason. Always. It’s a mystery.

Mitsuwa Marketplace, Venice and Centinela in the Mar Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles, is probably the one place where the “food court sushi” (had to buy it from the supermarket part of the place, then bring it out to the food court–they’d stick a “sold” sticker on the container so they knew you weren’t just lifting it from the store) was so good, I actually remember *dreaming about it* when I was laid up in the hospital a few years ago. The sushi makers didn’t start making the sushi until they reported to work shortly after the store opened, so one actually had to time their visit (to, say, 10 am) for the good stuff to hit the case.
My all time favorite sushi spot will forever be this mom and pop lil kiosk that was at my local mall, they would wake up early to head to the fish market every day..god I miss them 💔 closed down bc rent became too high in the mall plus the mall not wanting to renew their lease for a freakin Pollo Campero
