Opened a food truck last month, prolly gonna have to shut her down this month, maybe I’m just an idiot, but all I wanted was to make people really good sandwiches

  1. These look phenomenal. Keep going if you can afford the overhead and time

  2. Sorry to hear, but at least you put a really good product out there. Where are you located?

Good looking sandwiches. Where are you located?

Couple with an existing business? Lots of trucks here park at breweries without their own food

Awesome. You can probably figure out a lower overhead way to get the sandos out as you get started. Maybe pre orders or pop ups/partnerships with breweries

Product looks great! Hope you’re able to figure things out.

I think the ideas of partnering with breweries or perhaps business offices / hospitals may help provide more traffic! Maybe consider simplifying options to reduce food overhead costs.

I thought these were a collection of your favourite sandwiches from different establishments, they look great!

These look amazing! I need to know what is on that last sandwich!

These look great! You should probably give us sandwich lovers a location

Financially, I could afford to help keep you in business. Health wise, that first sandwich would be the death of me. They look fantastic.

  11. It usually takes more than a month to establish a business, but I know times are tough and the math right now for new restauranteurs is terrible. Those sandwiches look amazing. Hope you can find room for more runway and can spread the word.

    Look awesome.

OP you need to put where and when you are operating in this post

Also have you made a post in your city reddit page?

    Good luck!

  13. Oh man, I would buy a sandwich everyday at yours. Damn. Sadly I live on the other side of the world.

But you are most certainly not an idiot. Have you considered using your house and then bring them to companies and people? Here a lot of people do that. Either from their home or they rent a cheap place.

What is also done often is park at medium/large industrial zones. Companies love getting out and get food there.

Don’t give up. At least not after a month. Try some things. All the best luck!

OP, why aren’t you providing your location? Most of the people in this thread want to know so they can come give you $$$ for those beautiful sammies, me included! ☺️

Business Parks! The complex where my office is has a food truck come in every Wednesday now.

Call around and see if any will let you post up on a set day each week for 3-4 hrs

Fuck that. You’re a God!! A good one. A benevolent one. One that wants to make people happy. Sandwiches make people happy. It’s an easy equation. Why can’t we be happy? Why can’t we have nice things?! I’m sorry this world hurt you. We were not worthy.

  17. tenaciousfetus

Damn, sorry to hear that. I’d smash these

  18. Feel like you’re a viral TikTok away from being able to pay rent my man – those sandwiches deserve a buyer

Try and pair with a good brewery that doesn’t do food already

  19. These look stupid good. Would blow my rent at your truck

Looks like he’s located in Boise and has a page @thehumblefoodtrucker on instagram or something

Realistically, even with amazing food a food truck is always going to take more than a couple months to build up a client base/rep big enough to break even let alone profit.

Is this a shut down “forever” or “until I have more capital?
