It’s been announced that Casa Louie, an Italian restaurant which debuted in Hudson Yards earlier this year, will be heading north with a second location planned for Three Waterline Square (645 West 59th Street).
“Mad Restaurant Group brings its beloved Italian restaurant to the Upper West Side waterfront, offering handmade pastas, wood-fired pizzas and a lively neighborhood atmosphere,” a press release reads. “The classic Italian favorite will occupy approximately 3,300 square feet in the former Empellon Space, with an anticipated opening in Spring 2026.”
The new location will offer a “sleek, nautical-inspired space by designer Sarah Carpenter” and a “menu of sourdough pizzas, handmade pastas and vegetable-forward dishes.” There will also be an “extensive selection” of gluten-free menu items.
Mad Restaurant Group operates 14 food brands, including Friedman’s, Kossar’s and Suram.
“We can’t wait to open our doors at Waterline Square and bring classic Italian cuisine to the neighborhood,” said Jonah Phillips from Mad Restaurant Group. “With this new location of Casa Louie, we look forward to continuing our commitment to our guests by creating a place for gathering, celebrating milestones and savoring the simple joys of good food and good company.”
The existing Casa Louie, located at 455 West 37th Street, has solid reviews with a Google score of 4.8 out of 5 stars, including ample praise for its gluten-free pizzas and pastas. Its cocktails, meatballs and tiramisu also appear to be crowd-pleasers. Their chicken parm and shrimp scampi also seem like winners.
