The Embassy of Italy in Abu Dhabi, in collaboration with the Consulate General of Italy in Dubai, the Ice office and the Italian Institute of Culture, is celebrating the 10th edition of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World. The event, scheduled from today to Nov. 20, offers a calendar of initiatives aimed at enhancing Italy’s gastronomic heritage as a driver of culture, health, wellness and innovation. The opening of the review will take place with a dinner in the presence of 80 Italian chefs, including Roberto Cerea, Domenico Stile and Daniele Lippi.

Tomorrow, in Dubai, the event ‘The flavors of the great Italian composers’ will be held: a signature dinner inspired by the favorite dishes of the most famous personalities of Italian music, in an ideal dialogue between culinary art and national musical heritage. Also in Dubai, from tomorrow to November 6, Italy will be the protagonist at Gulfood Manufacturing, with more than 250 food production and processing companies. In coordination with the Ice Office, a space dedicated to business-to-business meetings will be set up to promote Italian excellence in research and technological innovation: from production to processing.

On November 11, the Embassy will host the second edition of the Network of Italian Chefs in the Uae, an initiative that aims to strengthen ties between Italian gastronomy professionals active in the country and consolidate their role as ambassadors of taste and Italian agrifood quality. On November 12, also in Abu Dhabi, the 2,500th anniversary of the founding of Naples will be celebrated. Participants include – among others – Eike Dieter Schmidt, director of the Capodimonte Museum and Royal Woods, and Alessandra Calise Martuscelli, vice president of the Ipogeo dei Cristallini foundation. On Nov. 13, a dinner curated by Chef Mangione in honor of the Emirate’s ruler will be held at a concert by maestro Alessandro Martire in the desert of Ras Al Khaimah. On Nov. 16, the Piedmont and Liguria regions will take center stage, presenting some of the most representative dishes of their cuisines. The review will conclude on November 20, in Dubai, with a reception organized by the Consulate General of Italy-with the contribution of Ice: special focus on Sicily thanks to the guest of honor, chef Filippo La Mantia.
