Balık ekmek is one of the most authentic street foods in Istanbul, and my favorite place to get it is in Karaköy. It’s a simple sandwich made with freshly grilled fish, served in crusty bread with onions, lettuce, and lemon. The stand I go to is right by the ferry station, just a few minutes from Galata Tower. It’s a fast, affordable meal that locals love, especially with a Bosphorus view. If you’re in Karaköy, don’t skip it.
