Scoundrel was one of four restaurants in South Carolina that received a star at the ceremony.
Scoundrel’s Owner and Founding Chef Joe Cash took a moment to reflect on his journey moving from New York back to his hometown in the Upstate to open his restaurant.
“This is my hometown. There is no other place my wife and I wanted to have children. It’s just amazing to be able to come here and to just build something within my community with all I’ve learned. We’re very excited to be home,” said Cash.

City officials said, “Joe Cash’s upscale French bistro charms with an elegant dining room with hardwood floors and brick walls, a full-service bar, and an engaging staff who make everyone feel well cared for and welcomed. It’s the hottest table in town, and reservations are a must, though seats at the bar feel far from a consolation prize.”
Lewis Barbecue GVL received a Bib Gourmand while Jianna, Soby’s New South Cuisine and The Anchorage also received a mention, according to officials.
Luminosa in Asheville received a MICHELIN Green Star with officials saying the new restaurant captured the inspector’s attention for their inspiring visions.
