ZETI bosses Firat and Abdullah

ZETI Turkish & Mediterranean Restaurant in Broadstairs is a semi-finalist in the British Kebab Awards 2026.

The restaurant, headed by friends Abdullah Darioglu and Firat Kurt, is in the running for the best newcomer restaurant.

Zeti opened its doors in Albion Street in August and has proved a firm hit with customers ever since.

Abdullah and Firat say they share the same love for Turkish–Mediterranean food and warm hospitality.

The restaurant is also named after their children,  “Ze” comes from Zeliha, the daughter of one and “Ti” comes from Timur, the son of the other.

The pair said: “It’s a family-rooted project in every sense. Being shortlisted for the Best Newcomer Restaurant award means so much to us. It feels like a beautiful recognition of all the passion, long hours and dedication we’ve poured into ZETI.

“But more importantly, it reflects the support of our guests — the people who believed in us from the beginning. We don’t just cook; we bring our traditions, our family recipes, and the love from our ZETI family straight to your table.”

The kebab industry is worth over £2.2 billion to the UK economy and the annual awards celebrate those who keep the industry alive.

The awards take place on February 24, 2026 at Park Plaza in Lonbdon.
