Never had a smoked oyster before! The first bite I had to understand the texture (which felt like a rich meaty bite of foie gras or a liver from the sea.) The flavor was labeled "habanero hots" but it didn't have any heat to it- Tasted more like an olive oil and spiced red sauce than actual "spicy." I dressed with capers, had some cascabella peppers on the side with crusty (highly buttered) sourdough w/ swiss. The vinegar in both pickled veg helped to cut the richness and added the right balance. Definitely would add smoked oysters to my charcuterie, pickled veggie and cheese board.
Texture: 8.6/10
This particular flavor: 7.5/10

Bleep blorp
Wouldn’t the foie gras of the sea be cod liver? Lol idk seems like a closer comparison
I thought the texture was going to be chewy but it was giving liver
That’s the good brand, incidentally, the cheap ones are a lot more dry and chewy. But good oysters, yeah it’s kind of more like a moist creamy texture.
No you
Taylor shellfish produces Ekone. They deliver the goods.
If you’re in the area, the taylor raw bar near Bellingham is just fantastic.
The no sauce added Ekone smoked oysters are a straight 11/10 IMO
Yea I agree that they didn’t rlly give the “spicy” taste but they were still pretty solid
