Italy has surpassed other nominees such as the U.S., Dubai and Vietnam to be voted the world’s best culinary destination at this year’s World Culinary Awards.
Last year, Dubai held the title.
Italian cuisine is celebrated for its simplicity, high-quality ingredients, and iconic dishes such as pizza, pasta, and gelato. It emphasizes high-quality ingredients such as ripe tomatoes, aromatic herbs, fresh cheeses, and olive oil.
Each region offers its own unique specialties, from the hearty meat dishes of Tuscany to the seafood-rich flavors of Sicily.
The World Culinary Awards is the sister event of the World Travel Awards, which was launched in 1993 to acknowledge excellence in the travel and tourism industry.
The results follow a year-long search for the world’s leading culinary brands.
Votes were cast by culinary industry professionals and the general public, with the nominee gaining the most votes in a category named the winner.
International food magazine TasteAtlas ranked Italian cuisine the world’s second best for 2025 after Greek cuisine.
