Officials said the batch of moringa leaf powder was supplied to distributors across the U.S. and that more products could be recalled as the investigation continues.

WASHINGTON — A dietary supplement powder sold at Sam’s Club has been recalled due to an ongoing salmonella outbreak that has sickened 11 people.

The Food and Drug Administration, along with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, is investigating salmonella reports in multiple states, with three people being hospitalized.

The food safety agency said the outbreak has been linked to a single lot of moringa leaf powder from Vallon Farm Direct PVT LTD in India. As part of the investigation, all Member’s Mark “Super Greens” dietary supplements have been recalled, regardless of lot code or best-by dates.

Officials said the batch of moringa leaf powder was supplied to distributors across the U.S. and that more products could be recalled as the investigation continues.

Out of the 10 people interviewed by the CDC, nine of them reported eating powdered dietary supplements. Six of those people said they had specifically used the Member’s Mark brand.

Florida, Kansas, Michigan, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia have all reported cases.

According to the CDC, the last illness was reported on Sept. 4, 2025.

Sam’s Club has stopped selling and distributing the dietary supplement.

Consumers are urged to stop eating or serving the recalled dietary supplement. Those with the recalled item can throw it away or return to the place of purchase for a refund.

Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, particularly in young children, elderly people and those with weakened immune systems. Healthy people infected with the bacteria typically experience fever, diarrhea that may be bloody, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain within 12 to 72 hours of consumption. Symptoms usually last four to seven days.

In rare cases, salmonella can enter the bloodstream and cause more severe illnesses including infected aneurysms, endocarditis and arthritis.

The wholesale club is also contacting customers directly about the recall.
