In the heart of the Ruzafa neighborhood, at number 79 Cuba Street, there is another corner that brings products from Italy directly to Valencia. It is La Bottega Italiana, a family store, in the style of a supermarket, which has become a point of reference for its economic prices and a selection of products imported from the transalpine country.
The store offers a wide range of pasta, which occupies entire aisles. Beyond the brands that Italians usually consume, such as DeCecco or Molisana, the store offers fresh pasta for only 2 euros.
The discovery is by @gastrovaig, who recently posted a video with all the details on his Instagram account.
Among the varieties you can find tagliatelle, trofie and orecchiette, as well as dried pasta with flavors such as mushrooms, ‘Nduja (a spicy Calabrian sausage) or peperoncino. There are also whole-grain pasta sections and a wide variety of gluten-free options.
Foccacias to your liking and coffee tasting.
But, one of the biggest draws is its charcuterie counter. There we find Guanciale Renzini, a key piece to elaborate an authentic carbonara that is not easy to see in other establishments. Or the star, the focaccia prepared on the spot: the restaurant promises that the price of any personalized sandwich “will never exceed 5€”.
Customers can assemble their own focaccia, for example, for 3.50 euros, choosing from products such as mortadella, spicyschiacciata or pancetta di monte poro.
In the aisles there is also a large selection of cheeses, many of them lactose-free, such as buffalo mozzarella, Philadelphia cream cheese , crescenza or Galbanino. In addition, there is an aisle dedicated to Italian sweets, with lots of pistachio products, and typical drinks such as Estathe tea.
The store has also imported a custom from Italy: a small coffee bar. There, customers can try all varieties of coffee completely free of charge. The idea is that, after the tasting, customers can take home the one they like best.
