Vancouver may have no shortage of Italian restaurants, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still get excited when a new one announces it will be opening — especially when that new Italian restaurant is known for its affordable pastas and sandwiches.
Jo’s Italian Deli broke the news online that it will be opening a new location in the city.
“We heard you,” shared Jo’s Italian Deli on TikTok. “We’ve been keeping a little secret, but we’re shy, so stay tuned!”

Jo’s opened its first brick-and-mortar outpost in Chilliwack in 2018, where it served a small selection of deli sandwiches and grocery items. Soon after, it began to offer more varieties of sandwiches alongside a solid selection of fresh pastas.
Then, in 2021, the deli opened its first-ever Vancouver outpost at 2505 Alma St., and in 2023, it opened its new sandwich-focused concept, Mangia’s Sandwiches, in South Granville.
Since then, the deli has received a cult following due to its affordable offerings, with its $11 pastas and $9 sandwiches.
If this new location is anything like its two other spots, we expect to find classics like rigatoni in slow-cooked homemade meat sauce, potato gnocchi in homemade pesto cream sauce, and spaghetti and meatballs, alongside its selection of Italian grocery and pantry staples.
As for an exact location, the deli did not provide an address aside from the fact that it’s coming to Vancouver.
However, the Mount Pleasant BIA did share some more details about a specific location.
“Rumour has it @jositaliandeli and @mangiassandwiches have something delicious up their sleeves for Main Street and we could NOT be more excited — in fact, we are freaking out!!!!!”
Similar to Jo’s, the Mount Pleasant BIA didn’t share an exact address, but did say it will be coming to Main Street and 24th Avenue.
Many took to the comments of both Jo’s Italian Deli’s video and Mount Pleasant BIA’s post to share how excited they were for the new location.
“I am jumping up and down with joy that Jo’s in my neighbourhood!!!!!” said one user.
“A THOUSAND KISSES FOR JO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best news EVER!!!” said another.
“AHHHH so close to my work I’m screaming ur gna see me every day,” shared a third.
An exact address and opening date have yet to be revealed for the new location. Stay tuned for more updates soon.
