This is my first loaf ever. I watched too many videos and wanted to try it out. This is 118% Hydration using 100% whole wheat flour and no kneading. I tried to make a poolish and yudane. I was tasty, thats a success in my books:)

You should always be proud of something you made yourself even if it turns out bad

If it was edible then be proud! 🙂 its only the first step and if its able to be eaten then you’ve already won the biggest war.
Greeneyed_Wit
Definitely proud because you tried something new. Think it’s a good first attempt. Next time will be even better.

You’re better at making bread than you were yesterday. You should be proud and celebrate starting a new journey.

Both! You did it! You’re bread might not look “pretty” but you put in the effort to make it. Keep trying and it will only get better. One day it might even look pretty!

Tasty is absolutely success! Be proud of yourself!
Kelvinator_61
Proud! We often see first attempts here that look more like dried brains than bread.

Is it edible? Yes=be proud (or) no=try again later

Self flagellation is the recommended course after a baking fail.

118% hydration is crazy talk for a first timer. Try 60%. However I would slather butter or lard on the crust and yum away! The inside looks very interesting too, like gimmie gimmie.

Always be proud of learning new things
If you liked it, that’s the most important thing.
Was there anything you think could use some improvement?

What? You think the first thing Michelangelo painted was the chapel? Not only did you have the courage to try something new, your first result was yummy. How many first attempts come out inedible? If you’re still wondering, pride is the emotion to go with.

Was it yummy?

The first step to doing something new is the hardest.

Be damn proud! You accomplished something huge! You tried something new and I bet it tastes so good!! It looks SO fluffy

Nice! I suggest starting with a lower hydration bc it’s much easier to get the hang of before you get into higher hydration doughs. From my experience failed breads can still be quite tasty, enjoy!
Miss_Fritter
Proud, because you’ve made your first loaf, and bonus – now you can apply what you learned to your next one! 😁

Be proud! We all started somewhere. Hope it tastes as good as it looks! It looks like it belongs next to a bowl of potato soup…mmm!

Many experienced bakers struggle with 100% whole wheat, yet you successfully took it on as your first loaf! That’s something to be proud of!
Wrangler_Mang
The crumb looks great. Crust looks crispy too. Add on of it tastes good then awesome loaf. Creative shape too even
Humblymumbling
That looks truly tasty. Be proud!

Does it taste good? Then you made bread, and you should be proud. They won’t always be perfect, but it’s only uphill from here.

I literally came here to say you should always be proud! Good job!

GotTheThyme
The crumb is GORGEOUS but if you want it to hold a certain shape, you could try a bread pan or a dutch oven.

You started something and saw it through to the end, be proud of that. If it tastes good be proud of that. It took me 4 loaves to get one I could eat when I started
