Great freshness to the palate, this wine has fine grained tannins and still a great vibrant acidity. The notes on the palate mirror perfectly what already perceived on the nose, enriched by tertiary aromas of cocoa and sweet spices.

Great stuff. Pessac is so overlooked vs the Medoc
Lovely wine and lovely property if you’re ever in Bordeaux. They have a wonderful hotel right on the property you can stay at, I was there earlier this year. 2008 is a very underrated vintage that can be picked up at a relative bargain. Classic elegant claret-style wines but overshadowed by the big showy 09’ and 10’ that came after it.

I’m a big fan of SHL, but I thought this was far too young when I had it a couple of years ago. I think it has great potential.

Absolutely HUGE fan of SHL over here. I honestly prefer the Petit because the value is just amazing (especially at Costco for like $32), but I do have a vertical of the Grand Cru from like 2012 -> 2022 plus a 2006 and a 2009. Anytime I open one of those, it’s a good night.
