Went to a show at the Roxy, and the Rainbow just feels like one of those places you gotta experience once if you live in LA long enough. It's cheesy, sure, and you may feel a strange mix of pity and admiration when you see the bass player for Faster Pussycat or something at the next table over. It's overpriced, but you know it's a tourist trap going in, however the Italian food they offer is not bad. These are the biggest ravioli I've ever seen. The bleu cheese dressing on the salad was pretty good. The Lemmy (Jack & Coke) was fine but $15. Again, you know what you're getting into here. Plus, hey, the atmosphere is totally one of a kind. Where else can you eat pasta while they play an entire Crowbar album front to back. Excuse the intense red lighting they have going on.

Having a meal isn’t strictly the taste of the food. Eating at such a legendary joint is its own charm.
It’s such an interesting crowd there sometimes. Always some aged rockers happily trapped in time.
Actually been meaning to come here. Ravioli is huge!
Looks kinda red. Did it taste red?
Hell yeah (that’s what this inspired me to think)
This is one tourist trap that is totally acceptable. Like you said, food is fine, but eating/hanging there is just so damn….cool.
The World Famous Rainbow Bar and Grill?

I’ve only had pizza there and it’s ok.
Rainbow’s crock of chicken soup is one of the best things on the menu.
Is this place legit or tourist trap?
Their pizza is pretty good too. I actually think its underrated for its food
Love the pizza there
I used to go to the Rainbow every Saturday night when I lived in West Hollywood back in the day and I remember the bartender made a very strong Cadillac cocktail .
Back then the food was pretty good. It was just a great atmosphere. I mean if you were into heavy metal, we used to go wild on that dance floor.
Happy memories.
omg…. my guilty pleasure is their pizza. its SOO cheesy and indulgent lol

I think I went to the same show as you. Pacifico was like 15$ and the food was way too expensive for me to order anything. Menu looks good though
Scarlet Chicken is amazing and worth the 30 minute wait.
I got thrown out of there for life in 1988. What a glorious night it was though.
Is the big, bald “head bouncer” still there? 😂
Their fried mozzarella was perfect.
You talked me into it.
As a person who used to spend a lot of time at the Rainbow in the 90s, I am glad to see that it is still red, and that the food is still good. Ironically, back in the day, I had breakfast seated next to the bass player from Faster Pussycat, although that was at Duke’s a few doors down.
Went last time I visited La. Will never go back lmao
