For 42 years, the comforting aroma of fresh pizza and homemade pasta has welcomed guests into a family-run staple in the Spring-Klein area, where generations have gathered for bridge games, wakes and celebrations.
In 2019, E.J. Vetrano took over Giuseppe’s Restaurant & Pizzeria, which was founded by his aunt and uncle. The restaurant remains a warm, homestyle restaurant where longtime customers come to share meals and memories while making the eatery part of their own history.
What’s special about it
Vetrano said the eatery has captivated local foodies and maintained its clientele with its freshly made pasta, pizza made from scratch and artisan bread.
The gathering spot offers Italian comfort food with core menu item staples and family recipes that have remained the same since it was first founded, he said.
Family recipes have been passed down through generations, starting with Vetrano’s great-grandparents, originally from Sicily, Italy. Vetrano said that though the restaurant is known for its Italian dishes overall, the lasagna is the restaurant’s No. 1 seller.

Other core menu times offered include the fettuccine alfredo and the Pete’s Spicy Chicken and Shrimp. In addition to its menu item staples, Vetrano said he is working on adding new dishes to the menu in time for the holidays.

Aside from Italian cuisine, Vetrano said Giuseppe’s Restaurant & Pizzeria offers a family-friendly environment. Vetrano said it was important to him to maintain the restaurant’s legacy and homey feeling.
“I wanted to try to recreate that feeling of quaintness,” Vetrano said. “I didn’t want anything real fancy. I wanted something homey.”

In addition to its ample seating services, Giuseppe’s Restaurant & Pizzeria offers a private room that can be reserved free of charge for large parties, including birthdays, weddings and funeral wakes. Vetrano said the private room is often reserved by local bridge groups that enjoy playing bridge while enjoying an Italian meal.
