Peachy keen: Inside Little Frankie’s.
Little Frankie’s, the cafe at the front of Adriano Zumbo’s fanciful high-tea salon, opened this week. Where flamboyant Fancy Nance is an homage to Zumbo’s mother, Nancy, 30-seat Little Frankie’s honours Zumbo’s dad, Frank – apparently not the tallest Frank in the family.
The cafe, with a takeaway section, is grounded in simple old-school Italian food. The short menu of savoury rosticceria (bready ready-to-eats) includes calzone filled with prosciutto and cheese, panini and mbriulata savoury scrolls. Sweets include cannoli, ricotta cake and zuccherati – sugar-rolled doughnut cigars filled with vanilla cream.
Little Frankie’s plays a pretty straight hand, but for the jeering peach tiles and black-and-white check flooring.

Open daily 7am to 3pm.
