I loves sardines, but i am poor so i get the cheapest cans and turn them into meals. Eventhough prices have been going up, sardines are still a good bang for your buck. I'm sure everyone has had a Humble sardine patty, but i figured id share mine here.

Recipe is fairly simple, i used to fish seasonings (basically salt and dried dille) some cilantro, parsley and spring onions. An egg and breadcrumbs, mix and form paties. Bake and when done sprinkle some lemon juice on top.

I dont like to brag but it was a 10/10 for me.

If any one has any recipes, tips etc you are welcome to share.

These might be worth giving a try. Is your plate showing more than 1 tin’s worth of sardines?

This looks good. I am imagining a nice homemade tartar sauce with diced pickles and mayo.

Cheap canned salmon works great for these if you like canned salmon. They freeze pretty well if you have extras. Canned salmon can be blander than fresh, so they sometimes need more seasoning.

Canned mackerel is what I use for that. You have to pick out some bones, but bigger flakier fish and a stronger flavor. I often mix some Old Bay seasoning in as well.

    Looks delicious. 🙂

I enjoy salmon patties from time to time. Eventually I want to make sardine and mackerel versions. Good reminder for me to give it a go here.
