For me personally, I enjoy eating Onigiri with salmon or tuna stuffed in them. I also enjoy my Onigiri toasted with sesame seeds sprinkled on top, with a warm glass of fresh green tea as my side beverage.π΅

Very much. I enjoy them very much.
Thereβs a little shack at the bottom of the ski hill we go to that serves an assortment of Onigiri. Umeboshi and Pork Belly are my favorite two

I made tuna mayo with cheese – used kewpee mayo. Also did chicken poppers and BBQ sauce. I seasoned my rice, I don’t think that’s usual? Used some molds and they where really good.

Tuna mayo for me. I tried my hand at making them for the first time this weekend and theyβre a little ugly but tasted great! My son asked if we could make teriyaki chicken next.

I like mine with grilled or rotisserie chicken in it. I add some garlic, chilli and mayo to the chicken.

Almost anything is delicious in onigiri. I usually make them at home with tuna mayo, though, because it’s so easy. But I’ll also get creative with leftovers sometimes.

Yaki onigiri is my favorite. I like having it with lemon green tea.

As a side question for those making at home, aside from toppings (inc nori), what else do you add to your rice? Any salt/oil before forming balls?
