
This is my first time making a grilled cheese and after thorough research on this subreddit I decided on muenster, sharp white cheddar, and american cheese on sourdough bread (specifically the everything bagel sourdough from aldi). Paired it with pacific foods creamy tomato soup. Extraordinary! Magnificent!
Oh, also used mayo (kewpie brand smoked bbq flavor is what i had on hand) on the outside of the bread. Glorious!
Read a tip somewhere to microwave the bread w cheese on it for ~30 seconds before cooking in the pan and it worked wonderfully, it cooked so fast in the pan and I didn’t have to wait for the cheese to melt on the inside thanks to the microwave.
I’m about to make a second grilled cheese, potentially (probably) a third.

Wow your first one looks great! Much better than my first ones but I didn’t do research. You’ve taught me the microwave trick! I’ll have to try that out that sounds like a wonderful way to get a good melt on some less melty cheeses!
I’ve been in this sub for years and this looks better than any I’ve made haha
