I remember years ago reading an article about how the beef industry was trying to figure out a way to make a snack food as convenient as chicken fingers, but with beef. I’ve started seeing ads for the Arby’s Steak Bites, and I’m not sure that’s going to get it. I mean, isn’t most of Arby’s menu made up of force meat pressed into a loaf with an edible glue? Now they’re going to keep actual bits of steak on hand? That’s not their brand.

But at home, sure. Sounds like a great idea.

My kids likes ā€˜em hibachi style!

  3. I love doing this. Serve it with rice and fresh peas

Not blasphemy but i would probably fold those puppies into a giant omelette

What cut of meat is that? That’s looks so good! And 20 times better than Arby steak bites. 🫔

Honestly, if it’s steak and it’s not well-done, this sub is very supportive lol

  7. This, except I do them on a stick around a fire pit. Basically stick them in the hottest part you can for 10-20 seconds of sear then eat it when ā€œdoneā€ to your liking.

Looks good what type of steak and how long ?

Not blasphemy, just not ideal for me.

I usually get steak bites since they’re cheaper at the butcher, but ideally, I’d go for a full steak !

Best use of leftovers in my opinion.

Say you made just too much steak (first world problem). Well it’s already cooked so overcooking it is really easy. What do you do? Dice them up in 1×1 cubes or bigger, temper a bit, and then wok fry them on super high heat and some oil. Let rest and BAM, delicious steak leftovers that isn’t too tough .

I like doing this if I’m cooking for multiple people in casual type get togethers, it’s easy for people to grab however many bites, and the steak bites have mallard on all 6 sides plus it’s drenched in the beef fat that I cook it with adding a lot of flavor. I make sure it’s medium rare by searing both sides of the steak, so basically the inside is blue rare. Then I slice the steak into cubes while rendering beef fat, then throw them into my pan teppanyaki style until medium rare with all six sides seared and covered in fat.

Imo the only reason it’s not served this way more often is presentation, it doesn’t look as pretty as seeing the medium rare cut. But the flavor is absolutely better this way imo as you have the crust everyone talks about on all sides instead of 2

Mid rare via a deep fryer, seasoned with garlic salt and saltines on the side and you’ve got yourself a fine plate of chislic!

  13. No blasphemies in sight. I’d have mixed the steak bites with tater tots and melted provolone cheese over the whole thing and tossed them in a bowl.

The eggs look organic ( orange color ) , steak looks ok…

  15. I do this with left over steak that’s already been cooked. I cut them up in cubes with similar sized potatoes and make a quick hash. Best breakfast ever.

If it’s the steak bites, I’ve heard of, they are not very good. According to my daughter, who goes to a lot of restaurants, they are tough and hard to chew.

Might not be the proper way to cook it but with some eggs for breakfast that’s fine! Looks delicious

The lack of seasoning is blasphemous

  19. Hell no. That’s nostalgic for me. My Gma used to make that for me with corn and mashed potatoes. It was my favorite dish as a kid. Love you and miss you Gma RIP 😭😭

  20. It’s great for tougher cuts when you’re in a hurry, do this all the time

Asian style with black pepper gravy on a sizzling platter is ridiculously good

Steak bites and whole sautƩed mushrooms. Nom nom.

  23. Good job on the foneneas. This is how I cook steak most of the time, it’s all about the surface area.

They go great in a wrap / burrito with some salad, because it saves you having to gnaw through slabs of meat.

I’ve done that with tenderloin trimmings and it’s pretty amazing.

And it looks to be also with a little bit of Tabasco which is my favorite way of doing a morning steak I love a nice not quite thin ribeye medium rare with sunny side or over easy provided there’s runny yoke is what matters and Tabasco and it’s exactly what looks like is on your plate unless it’s Louisiana hot sauce
