Kicking off tomorrow in Bosnia and Herzegovina is the 2025 edition of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World, the global event dedicated to promoting Italian culinary tradition and its contemporary expressions. Sarajevo is once again preparing to host an extensive program of initiatives from November 12 to 15.

This year’s edition, jointly organized by the Embassy of Italy in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Association of Italian Businesses in Bosnia and Herzegovina (AIIBH), will be held under the motto “Italian Cuisine: A Celebration of Health, Culture, and Innovation.”
The star of the event will be Chef Valerio Braschi, winner of MasterChef Italy in 2017. His stay in Sarajevo will see him star in a series of meetings, workshops and public culinary demonstrations, including a Street Food Show Cooking in the heart of the city, at Fra Grge Martića Square, where he will be joined by well-known local Chef Miran Karić on November 14, in cooperation with the Municipality of Stari Grad. The event will be open to the public and media, with a live connection to the TV program “Dobar dan BiH” on TV Hayat.

In cooperation with the Sarajevo Hotel and Tourism School, an educational activity for students is also planned for November 13 – an opportunity to learn firsthand about Italian culinary philosophy. In addition, video-recipes of traditional Italian dishes will be available on the Embassy’s social networks on the days of the Week, made available by the famous online Italian recipe platform “GialloZafferano.”
An evening tasting of the dishes prepared by Chef Valerio Braschi will also be held at the Italian Residence, which will enable the promotion of Italian cuisine and products to a select group of food entrepreneurs, importers and chamber system operators.

The Week will also be accompanied by special partner initiatives: the Metropolis restaurant chain will offer an Italian menu inspired by regional recipes for the duration of the event, while the gourmet supermarket “Crvena jabuka” will support the initiative by promoting its Italian products that will be used in the various initiatives. Also part of the program is the video contest “An Italian Recipe,” in which students from the First and Second Gymnasium of Sarajevo and the School of Music will reinterpret the Italian culinary tradition through short films. The best entries will be judged by a jury composed of representatives of AIIBH, the Embassy and teachers; the award ceremony will be held in the coming weeks.

In addition, to prolong the flavor and atmosphere of Italian Cuisine Week, the Sarajevo Office of ICE Agency will be hosting the public from December 1-6 at the MERCATOR flagship store in Ložionička (Sarajevo). For the occasion, the shelves will be dressed in the colors of Italy: authentic Italian products accompanied by an explanatory guide for visitors to discover Italian excellence. The event will open with the presence of a chef who will delight the audience with a traditional Italian dish.
