Today we’re making Lucy’s mi salata Greek doughnut bites drizzled with rich chocolate. These golden treats are crispy outside, fluffy inside, and absolutely irresistible. Start by making the dough. In a bowl, whisk 2 cups flour, one packet dry yeast, one tea sesp sugar, and a pinch of salt. Slowly add 1 and 1/2 cups warm water, and mix until smooth. Cover and let it rest for about an hour until doubled in size. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot. Using a spoon dipped in water, scoop small portions of dough and drop them carefully into the hot oil. Fry until puffed and golden on all sides. Then drain on paper towels. For the chocolate sauce, melt one cup of good quality dark or milk chocolate with a splash of cream until silky. Now comes the magic. Pile the lucamods on a plate, drizzle generously with the warm chocolate and sprinkle with crushed nuts or a dusting of cinnamon if you like. Crispy, gooey, and full of chocolatey bliss. Lucum made soalada are a taste of Greek indulgence. Try them once and you’ll crave them forever.
