Eh. It’s hard to get angry at the cream cheese one. It’s smart advertising. Not like it was overly pushy somehow, or out of touch. It was not sneaky, the product is not dangerous. This sub has been going nuts for chives for the past month, so someone advertised a product with chives in it.
Why not try to sell sharp knives, cutting boards, or cream cheese with chives? What would you rather see? Ads for trucks and kitty litter?
I don’t like ads, but if they are going to be there, they may as well be on brand for the subreddit. Literally 20 out of the top 20 posts in the last month were chive-based (I stopped counting, but I had to scroll down pretty far to see a post not referencing chives). This is a chive subreddit now. If, before this all cools off, it manages to make 100% of the advertising chive-based, I think that would only enhance this madness.
And then we’ll find out F1 was just an industry plant all along

The portrayal of corporate interest is usually insidious and inhuman, but I can just imagine some panicked social media manager trying to justify their existence going *”Oh fuck, chives are relevant the internet? Oh shit we sell chive products we need to be seen in the chive conversation or I’m going to get yelled at.”*

I went out of my way to buy a different brand of cream cheese because of their insidious interloping
…but those are scallions
F1exican is the founder of a movement (and the inspiration for a bunch of ad spend)
Literally got a Philadelphia chive ad immediately above this post
Meh, I thought Philadelphia Cheese one was good and just used the regular ad system, not extra posts. Haven’t seen the others mentioned yet.
Is just like the “I didnt do it chapter” in The Simpsons.
Thank you for including the planes ☝🏼
I fucking love how the first panel is a green onion, not chives. S tier shit post.
I appreciate the effort you put in to making this
If it’s just Kraft, and that box they give f1exican is not just brand stuff but shows they actually thought about it, I can live with that.
Now if a second brand tries to jump in, I’m getting a pitchfork.
***also, bonus points for the Chives the Cat shirt
I feel like this happened with pickles too. Why is there so many pickled flavored things? Even jellybeans
