Had the opportunity to try out The Anchor bar while traveling through Buffalo and got to say that the place seems to be famous for being famous. Wings were overcooked and tiny. Very disappointing but grateful to have the opportunity to do things like this when traveling.

Ask any actual Buffalonian where to go for wings and Anchor Bar will never be the answer. Anchor Bar may have been one of the first to do wings, but they’re nowhere near the best. I’d even do Duffs before going to Anchor, but there are dozens of way better places if you’re looking for a great wing experience
Anchor Bar near my house in CO is awesome.
I went to one in the suburbs of Illinois. The wings are solid, but the medium buffalo sauce might be the best pure buffalo sauce I’ve ever had.
I think for visitors it’s a must stop for nostalgia. Great photo ops.
Wings have improved immensely over the last decade. They had a periods of time /ownership where its was waaaaay bad.
