Another BANGER from this thing so far. I can't believe how long I've been missing out on charcoal, pulled pork about to slap for dinner. (Don't judge me for the chunks, it was supposed to go in a pressure cooker before I moved to a place with a backyard and got a BBQ lol)

Nothing wrong with cubing it. That’s more surface area for rub and a bark to form
Listen, I don’t want to seem like a cult member or a used car salesman, but you will get the 26”.
I also put apple juice in the boat, hoping that was a good call. Trusting Gemini! Lmao
Those things last forever. My dad bought an 18″ kettle in the ’70s, left it in the backyard uncovered. After he passed in the ’80s it was still there. In the mid-90s, I took it home, cleaned it up, replaced the rotting wood handles with Weber parts, stripped and repainted the rusted areas, got new grates, and bought a cover. Gifted it to my sister-in-law who still uses it. You can find them on Facebook marketplace and craigslist for next to nothing; people are always moving where they can’t do charcoal or downsizing to an apartment or leaving town and don’t want to haul it away. And people are always upgrading to the latest and greatest. I got my Performer for free from a nice lady who’s husband passed and she had zero interest in using it.
Looks awesome! I plan on smoking some pulled pork this weekend, I got an 8 pounder for $99c/pound. Loved my kettle so much that when my friend was getting rid of theirs, I bought it off them for $20. Haven’t used it yet, but it’ll be nice to have for larger cookouts.
Looking good my friend. I picked an 18″ kettle off the curb in college (we were moving) and loved that grill. The higher dome on the lid accomodates a lot more food than people generally think, it was a soldier for years.
Welcome to the tribe
My 18 gets lots of use, great for those “for 2” grills. My performer of course for those bigger grills. My Q gets the nod for most use though, it’s a quick heat blazer for most of my grill works… 😁🔥
Bought mine in 2000, lives uncovered and going strong. Get the basket inserts and the grate with the winged sections
HELL YEAH BROTHER!
Man that’s fantastic. A Weber kettle truly is a life-changer!
Update ladies and gents. Just pulled them probe tender at 200 degrees. Can’t wait to eat.
