A semi local (but also national) game butcher near me has camel brisket. I was curious if anyone has tried these before as I am thinking of cooking it for thanksgiving dinner.

They’re good, you just have to get over the hump.

I bet camel meat can get really dry.

There’s a guy I saw on instagram who tried a variety of briskets, one of them camel. I’ll see if I can find it and link it.

I’ve heard camel meat is not very pleasant just based of cooking and smoking videos I’ve seen

A quick Google search. “Lean of venison, game of lamb, consistency of beef. Absolutely mouth watering”.
It tasted like they smell. Kinda like funky wet hay

My dad used to smoke a whole pack of camels, every day

Camel meat is absolutely delicious when prepared properly and low/slow on a smoker would probably be amazing. I would highly suggest buying this and please report back how the brisket cook went. Good luck!

I get ground camel and it’s amazing. So lean and clean atleast for farm raised for meat in America. I love it and it does beat beef by a long shot if we don’t factor price.
I read that as “Caramel” brisket at first and was very intrigued

I’ve heard great things about camel meat but I’ve never had the chance to try. They say it’s similar in taste to beef and bison I assume it may have some game to it
