ŞEHRİNİ GEZDİR (ATİNA) – Takipçimle Lokal Atina Lezzetleri | Ayaküstü Lezzetler

Şehrini Gezdir bu hafta Atina’da. Bu videoda Trendyol Go by Uber Eats ile iş birliği gerçekleştirilmiştir.
Gün batımında ise denize nazır bir masada;

Trendyol Go by Uber Eats, offers. They didn’t bring the potatoes, so we deducted it from the bill. The Greeks have a famous saying about this. “Ellada ine” This is Greece. Sometimes things like this can be forgotten. How beautifully it is greased. Butter… It smells incredible. What are we going to eat here? Milk lamb chop. Bro, it’s super. It’s one of my favorite things. Oh, it came quite spicy. I’m not crying, it’s beautiful though. I liked it. It feels like we are in one of the most stylish places in Greece. Little Kook really feels like a fairy tale land. Honestly, Genco, the atmosphere is so enjoyable right now. Sounds came, but hopefully we didn’t break a tooth. Did you hear? Then let’s drink. Let’s drink. Welcome, bro. Thank you for having me. Greetings to you all from Athens. the concept of showing around the city We came to Athens for the first leg of our trip abroad. I have some of my old followers with me, and at the same time we are now friends, Genco is here. How are you? Are you okay? Thank you. Welcome. How are you? Thank you for having me. Thanks, I’m good too. We are in a very beautiful place. What is this place actually called? This is Etnikos Kipos. Actually, we are at Syntagma Square, right next to the Parliament. A garden for sightseeing. It’s a tourist garden right now. Yes. It’s a pleasant place. Greenery. Honestly, there is so much green and such beautiful trees. I really wanted to have the opening here. Of course, there are many places in Athens where an opening can be held. Yes. I mean, it’s really a beautiful city. I love it very much. You live here. Now, for the ‘Show Me Your City’ concept, there are many things that people are curious about. It’s much better for me to learn a bit more about what exists in which city from the people who live there. At the same time, it’s good for the viewers as well. So in today’s video, there will be a bit of food, a bit of conversation, and we can actually talk about what you do as your main profession at the beginning. Of course. My name is Genco. I have been living here for about 8 years. My wife is from here. I am in the center of Athens. I work in Golden Visa and investment consulting. At this point, we support our guests coming from Turkey. In addition to this, corporate firms that come, groups that want to hold events, or want to invest in the islands, or groups that want to do different events, tourist groups, individual people, we also provide support on the tourism side at this point. I will leave Genco’s Instagram account below. You can also communicate directly with him if there are things you are curious about. Don’t hesitate during the day either. We will chat while eating. Our main topic, as you know, is food. Of course. So we are in Athens. Today’s program will be a bit different from the Athens guide I shot with my wife. Because it will be a bit more like this with him. We had shown some new generation places. Come over here a bit. We had shown some new places together with him. Here, together with Genco, we will also explore a bit of the classic, actually the old restaurants of Athens, taverns. There are also some new generation ones in it, actually. Of course. We also wanted to step a bit outside the center and show a different place. Because everyone usually records videos on YouTube, showing the locations in the center. We wanted it to be a different place besides that. Let it be a different place. Now, there is actually no chance to fit it all into a single video. over 700, over 800. there are many places. We shoot a lot of videos here. So if we were to try to do it together with Genco we need to create a separate channel. By the way, he has a very nice page on Instagram as well. So he shows both the islands, and life in Athens. What you can do, where you can go, we will discuss all of that today. Don’t worry. So where do we start eating? Let it be a surprise. But with a brunch, I suggest we start with breakfast. It’s both local, and touristy, but more of a spot known by locals. It’s not a very well-known place. When we talked, you told me that, Athenians actually don’t have börek for breakfast. That’s more of a thing from those coming from Thessaloniki… That’s right. Now, Athens and Thessaloniki are actually two separate places. The habits are a bit different. For people living in Athens and Athenians, what we actually call breakfast is, a croissant and a coffee. Freddo Espresso. Most likely, it will be an iced cold coffee. It will be Freddo Espresso. Therefore, we will go to a place that really does this well, with good product quality, using good ingredients. Very nice. So when the video starts, you all know very well what you will do. I would be very happy if you like the video at the beginning. At the same time, the hype button appears below. If you press that too, we would be very happy. And of course, if you are not subscribed, joining us would also honor me. So, Show Your City, Athens is starting. Let’s get started. This is actually a parallel of Ermou. More precisely, when you turn right or left from Ermou. New spots in Athens. There is Athena’s Cook. There are Chinese restaurants in the back. There are different bakeries. There is a Thai restaurant. For example, in this kind of work. Koi Sushi is very famous. Yes. These places are more Asian and have new generation spots. More and different cuisines. There is Asian cuisine. There is Italian cuisine. There is Greek cuisine. There is Mediterranean cuisine. All of these are actually available at this point. Therefore, my recommendation to those who come is that when they go to Ermou, turn right at the first or second street. They should turn left instead of right. Because on the left side, at the point we are currently at, they can really find delicious and different flavors. It’s referred to as Chinatown, right? So there are quite a few Chinese restaurants around. It’s actually named Chinatown as well. There isn’t an official name like that right now, but if you say Chinatown, everyone knows this place. This is right next to Birdman’s street. Yes, exactly. Very nice. By the way, my dear spouse is here too. She is joining us as well. It’s me again. It’s Tülin again, exactly. But we are exploring together. I think we are getting close to our breakfast stop. Yes. A little further ahead. Okay. We have arrived at Neropistolo for our first stop. Neropistolo means something like that, right? Like a water gun. Yes. Neropistolo means water gun. This is a new generation patisserie, actually a pastry shop. We are right next to the center. When we get off from Ermou Street, it’s down below. Just a couple of streets later, on the left side. A different place. It’s a small place but that has really delicious products We can say it’s a new generation pastry shop. Very nice. From the showcase where they display their products We actually selected a few products. There is a plain croissant in front of us. There is a sandwich with turkey. Focaccia sandwich. And you specifically chose a croissant with peanut butter. It’s really very delicious. The shape is a bit different but it’s called a peanut butter croissant. Dough, croissant dough. Definitely. We also have our banana bread. Ms. Tülin wanted to have breakfast with the banana bread. We will also share the focaccia sandwich with her. And of course, my Freddo Espresso. It’s a must-have. The coffee that Greeks drink in the morning. Exactly. Freddo Espresso. I ordered that. Then let’s get started. I can start with the croissant. Of course. You can start too, bro, if you want. We eat it with our hands. Exactly. We eat it with our hands. By the way, the layers are really nice. How? The butter smells incredible. Incredible. And it’s super porous. Like a spider web. How’s yours? Did you like it? As you said, first there’s a smell of butter. Then a taste of butter. And similarly, there’s really a good pistachio flavor. There’s also a bit of powdered sugar. It’s a bit heavier than a normal croissant, but I really love this. A balanced taste. Yours looks a bit oily too. Yes. This one looks a bit less oily. Because it has the same thing inside, outside there’s peanut butter, but inside there’s also a peanut butter flavor. Yes. It’s a bit heavy though. The bottom was completely peanuts. Yes. I can show you like this. It looks very good. It looks very nice. Enjoy then. Thank you, you too. I will continue with this, but I’m switching to a focaccia sandwich. Because my wife didn’t have breakfast either. She’s waiting for a focaccia sandwich too. Here you go, madam. Thank you. You’re welcome. Now, from what I see here, there’s smoked turkey. There’s nice mayonnaise. There are mustard seeds. And of course, there’s lettuce. I recommend you try the bread. The real bread. Yes. By the way, it’s an oily focaccia. But it looks nice. Did you like it? Isn’t it nice? The mustard seeds pop in the mouth. Very nice. Normally, how do you have breakfast? More precisely, how do Athenians do it? Let me give you some information. Under normal circumstances, as you know, there’s a Bougatsa reality that everyone knows. However, Bougatsa is actually more of a taste unique to Thessaloniki and Northern Greece. Athenians mostly have Freddo Espresso for breakfast, which you also tried. Cold coffee and a croissant on the side. Breakfast usually goes like this. Aside from that, bougatsa… yes, there can be very little bougatsa but there’s one thing about bougatsa. Actually, we usually eat cheese and minced meat bougatsa. Yes. But as you know, sold in Thessaloniki, there is cream-filled bougatsa with powdered sugar. Sweet bougatsa. Athenians eat it if they are going to have bougatsa. Not cheese. There is also Tiropita, which is cheese-filled, We have a pastry made from puff pastry here. That can also be preferred. Nice. What do they call the ones with spinach? Another name. Spanakopita. Spanakopita, okay. That one is also very nice. Yes. These can also be eaten. They can be preferred. Exactly. But then let me say this. I mean, if Athenians are eating croissants in the mornings, Good croissants can be found here in Athens. He said they make it in many places then. Absolutely. Center, outside the center, in a side street you never expected, So, is there a pastry shop here? I said I’ll try it in most places. There is a logic like this in Athens. There is good food in this neighborhood. There is no situation like there is good food in this neighborhood. Each neighborhood has its own strengths. that really sells beautiful, tasty, good quality products. There are restaurants available here. Well, if we need to say it like this a place where many restaurants are gathered a place with good restaurants Isn’t it the Kolonaki area? The Kolonaki area is very good. The Psiri area, which is currently developing newly. actually the area right next to Monastaki. A few more local bars, a bit more the green area of Pangrati. For example, the Pangrati area I generally don’t think people go there. but there are really nice restaurants there, there are bars and cafes available right now. Nice. The breakfast was very nice. Thank you. Enjoy your meal. Let’s move past this quickly. Because when you want to eat a croissant is one of the places you can come to. We had also shown a pastry shop in the previous Athens guide. That place is also in Northern Greece. A family from the Thessaloniki region was making the pastries. It was very nice too. As I said, the creamy pastry was incredible. So here, the creamy pastry might be the best-selling product. Because the Greeks were buying that the most from the counter. I liked this place too. It’s a very nice place for the new generation. The kitchen has turned out so cute. I’m happy to have shown a place like this. Because it can serve as an example. If people are making a place like this, at least they can create a glass area to showcase their kitchens. To let you see our kitchen, to see the products we make. And I can say this as someone who lives here. In terms of material quality, really. I can say that they use quality products. Focaccia, Croissant and… At the same time, we tried our pistachio croissant. Our birds have arrived. there are pigeons everywhere in the city. And they are very beautiful. Wherever we eat such pastries, they appear next to us. I love it, that’s why. They are not afraid of people, they are used to it. They are waiting to be fed. And we are helping them. We are also waiting to be fed. That’s why we are making this video. Now we have a banana bread here. Ms. Tülin ordered it. That’s why I will just taste a little bit of it. The rest will be eaten by her. I also took a bit of the cream on top. Come on, take a fork too, bro. Let’s try it. There are caramel bits inside. There’s caramel on top too. There’s caramel inside as well. There’s caramel inside too. You eat some too. You eat some too. Just eat it already. Wait a second. It’s nice. I liked it. It’s really aromatic and tasty. By the way, let me tell you the prices while I’m here. I’m drinking Fredo Espresso. 3.5 euros. Our croissant is 2.60. Our focaccia sandwich is 6.30. We have a pistachio croissant here for 4.30. Our coffee is 3.50. We have one water for 0.50. Our banana bread is 4 euros. We’re wrapping this up. See you at the next stop. This place has been in operation since 1910, one of the oldest, most classic spots in Athens. Actually, we said that bougatsa is not consumed much, but you know, bougatsa, with cheese, with spinach, this is one of the places where such pastry products can be enjoyed. What caught my attention the most is the one on top. What is this, man? They’ve made cannoli here. Incredible. They’ve put on a show, right? Yes, a little bit. Is this something famous? This? This is called Kourou, as far as I know. Cheese pie. Yes, Kourou. A little more, yes, it’s called Kourou. In Turkish, In Greek, it’s called Kourou. Oh no. Aaaa. They are fighting. A fight broke out. There is a yellow cheese pie. Yes, with cheese, kaseri, cheese pie. With peppers, with cheese. The normal chicken and feta one that we know. Yes, the normal classic mushroom. chicken and graviera cheese. Chicken, graviera cheese and vegetables. Yes. Leek and feta cheese. It looks very nice. With spinach. Yes, I recommend the spinach one here. He also said with bacon and yellow cheese, the cheese we know. But kourou is really a flavor that can be tried and is nice. Nice. Now we came to eat Souvlaki. Yes. Where did we come? A good question. The oldest place here. Lefteris O Politis. Classic, traditional souvlaki So they make a wrap. What does souvlaki mean? Souvlaki actually means wrap. It actually means skewer. Souvlaki. Souvlaki comes from skewer. Exactly. Exactly. Now they are actually making a kebab here. Yes. They pull that kebab into the flatbread we know as tırnaklı pide. It’s one of the classic dishes here. It has a completely different aroma. Yes. We will see it shortly. In classic souvlaki, there are no french fries. They only put tomato and onion. There are places with potatoes too, but this one does it in the traditional way. Yes. By the way, they are very fast. They grease the bread very nicely. They should mention that those coming will have to wait in line. There are about 20 people behind us. It’s quite crowded on the road. We have been waiting for about 20 minutes too. Yes. If you are willing to wait a bit and want to eat a nice flavor, this is the right address. How nicely they greased it, really. I’m craving it. We got our souvlakis. I have everything in mine. Yours is just classic. Yes. I didn’t add tomatoes. A bit more spices and onion. But you love onions. Yes. And purple onion. Of course. Purple onion and spicy. This, from what I see, is a meatball that is between Adana kebab and Tekirdağ köfte. It’s actually minced meat. Yes. Minced meat, a mixture of meatballs and kebabs. It looks fat-free. We’ll see when we eat it. This is the most traditional, the most classic one. The name is Lefterizopolitis. We are a bit close to the center. It’s a business that has been around since 1951. In the real original recipe, there are no French fries. It would be a little smaller in size. The pita, which we call the bread, they grease the flatbread nicely. They also fry this. Yes. Tomato, onion, and actually red pepper powder. Let’s taste it, bro. Of course. Let’s see. They added a bit too much salt. Oh, it came quite spicy. The spiciness is high but nice. But you’re crying right now. I’m not crying. It’s nice, I liked it. Did this food move you? It moved me a lot. Exactly. It’s a dish that lifts you a bit. The salt and spiciness are very high. He added that crushed pepper, you know. That went a bit down your throat. It’s a familiar taste, isn’t it? A close taste. It’s a taste that’s very suitable for our palate. It was different when the meatballs came in the second step. Red onion. This is exactly it. There’s a kebab place we went to in the Grand Bazaar. It was like that. It’s a firm meatball already. Yes, a firm meatball. Exactly. But it’s nice. Cooked very well. While cooking this, they press this bread on top. They grease it. Oils accumulate behind it. They also press the bread there. Then they take it down. They put it under the counter to keep it warm. It’s the same logic as ours. In Istanbul, many kebab places do it this way. The softness of the bread, how’s the texture? This bread is amazing. It’s not actually like that tırnaklı pide. It’s a bit thinner. Yes. So it’s a bit softer. How can I say this to you? Like pita dough. In Greek, it’s called arabikí pita. We can say it’s like Arabic bread. Very soft. And after it absorbs the oil, it becomes much more graspable and I think the taste in the mouth while eating is much more delicious. Our tırnaklı pide is a bit harder. Because it’s hard… I think it’s more porous. This one doesn’t have those pores. No pores. And this dough is very soft. It doesn’t tire you out. It doesn’t tire you out. Yes, exactly like that. It doesn’t tire you out. That’s the right sentence. Yes. Enjoy your meal. Enjoy your meal. Is it good like this? Very good. One eats, one watches, my dear spouse is currently behind the camera. This is actually a bit smaller than the normal size. And the price is actually, while the normal average is around 3-3.5 euros. It’s currently between 3-3.80 in Athens, at any place in Greece a local and normal price you can eat. You can find this for 7-8 as well, but. This is 2.5 euros. This yes. It’s a bit smaller and also a classic and very old place. As you can see, while we are inside right now, maybe 25-30 people got it before us. There are just as many behind us. Because of the fast circulation and turnover, it standardizes. What does 2.5 euros do right now? It makes something like 110-120. Yes, like that. So you are eating a meat product for 120 lira in Europe. It’s an amazing thing. There is no chance to do this in Turkey. Now try to eat 100 grams of meat. No matter where you are, you still pay around 400 lira. So here, I think there is 120 grams, there’s a meatball with about 130 grams in it. If we look at it from a skewer perspective, most likely there is over 100 grams of meat in this. Do you know what it looks like? It’s a perfect match meatball. I mean, they gather around the stadium and it becomes this soft meatball. They wrap it in something like that, in soft bread. It’s just like that meatball. That feeling, huh? Yes. Exactly like that. Very nice. I went back to my youth. To the old match days. We mentioned the prices, 2.5 euros. I think when you come, if you’re eating to get full, order 2. Yes. There will be a line. But I liked it a lot. If you say I’ll get one more. You would wait an average of half an hour, 25 minutes. So I think 2 per person is normal. If you don’t like spicy, you can also say it’s not spicy. Make sure to say it. If you don’t want it. Because it’s spicy. Paprika pepper. I’m starting to sweat right now. It won’t be a problem, after the spicy food you had in Gaziantep. Yes. You’re right. Exactly. Okay. Now let’s move on to the next stop. Is it a surprise again? Surprise. But keep eating. Alright. The flavors are just starting. Let’s go. Now, which area are we in? We are about to enter the Psiri area. Sintagma is up there. Monastiraki. And next to Monastiraki. I would actually say it’s like Cihangir in Istanbul, it resembles it. This is a newly developing place. It’s also a tourist area where mostly young people come. However, despite being touristy, there are also many local places. This place is very organized. Yes. Organized and new streets, restaurants, there are also different cuisine alternatives besides Greek cuisine. Mediterranean, Japanese, Chinese cuisine, cafes, bars, all of them are here. Very nice. When people come, especially places they need to visit, we mentioned Kolonaki. Psiri. Let’s list them out. Under normal circumstances, for someone coming to Athens for the first time, I think 3-4 days is a nice amount of time. The main center is Sintagma, parliament square, constitution square. A bit above this is Kolonaki, Monastiraki, Plaka square and I think this is Psiri square, I can say it’s one of the first places to see. For first-time visitors. Shopping can also be done here, as far as I’ve seen, but where is the main shopping place? There is a shopping mall. Actually, yes, the shopping mall is like this, There is a shopping mall called Attica. Here are all the stores, where the brands are. Big brands. A large point with about 5-6 floors that has quite big brands. Actually right across from the Numismatic Museum. Very close to the square. Besides that, I really want to shop well. Many people ask if there is a big outlet center in Athens. Actually, there is an outlet in Athens. It’s about 15 minutes away from the airport. There is a place called Designer Outlet. When is it good to go here, of course? There are discount times for this place and times when you can find a lot of products. For example, the first week of December, Easter. It’s approaching. Now, if the ladies are watching and telling their husbands, let’s go in the first week of December, then good luck. Sorry, gentlemen. There’s nothing to be done. And there are nice discounts, 40%, 50%. I’m not mentioning any brand names now, but almost all brands are really there. Also, for those coming from Turkey, there will be a duty-free opportunity as well. And I think when you sign up there, you can get a 10% discount like that too. Actually, you can use 3 different discounts. In some cases, this can even exceed 50%. If they write Designer Outlet, it will definitely come up. It’s a bit above the airport. But as I said, the holiday dates, the classic holidays in Greece are Easter. Besides that, we have Christmas in December. And the first week of December is the end-of-season sales. End-of-season sales starting from December 5th. These dates are when they can catch great discounts. Very nice. So where are we going for food? Aren’t you going to say? Actually, I’m still not thinking of saying. Let’s meet at the door. Let it be a surprise for you too. Okay then. This is a new generation souvlaki place. It’s exactly like the döner we eat. If you noticed, there’s chicken, pork, and moschari. All three are available. These are quite big. Exactly, exactly. You can get all three different meats. They’ve put a huge döner. And what does Gyro mean? Bro, Gyro means döner. Yes, now souvlaki, kalamaki, and gyro are actually mixed up. Gyro means döner. Souvlaki wrap. It’s referred to as a wrap in Athens. In Thessaloniki, it’s a bit different. Besides that, what we call kalamaki is skewers. So where have we come? We’ve come to a nice place. Little Kook. Actually, we can call this the street of fairy tales. This is in the Psiri area. We’re just below Monastiraki. The feature of this place is this. There are about 7-8 shops here and a wide street. Yes. And every year, every season is different. And they change the decorations according to that concept. Right now it’s Halloween. Currently, there’s a Halloween concept. At New Year’s, it becomes a Christmas concept. Besides that. When I came here before, there was Disneyland, for example. There were Mickeys and stuff. It was like that a very short time ago. I’m seeing it for the first time right now. They’ve just made the Halloween concept. But I recommend this place for families with children. They can come and enjoy good coffee, food, etc. It could be a nice experience. Or those who want to take photos have come here. That’s why you should definitely come. But you just showed me the evening photos. You showed the evening video. It has incredible lighting. Yes. Right now, it’s about 2:30 PM here. But when it’s evening, when they turn on the LEDs and lights, laser shows, light shows, it’s completely different. It really becomes like a fairy tale land. There are characters related to whatever concept is there on the street. Therefore, it’s a nice location to have a fun time. Definitely. The family fathers are burned out. They will definitely bring them here. We will wait. Now we have finished Monastiraki. We are heading towards our next point, the Tisio area. A place where we will eat a nice lamb chop. By the way, one of the most common questions along the way is. Where can I buy drinks? Can there be different kinds of drinks, etc.? This place exists. Right on the left side. We actually call it Cava, meaning liquor store. Cava Nektar. In the Monastiraki area of Athens, you can find different drinks, various alternatives, one of the places where you can find Limited Edition special drinks. If you search for Cava Nektar, it will directly appear on the map. There are quite a few different drinks inside. Especially wines are available. If you want to try Greek wines, you can check here. Both local wines, and Italian, as well as French wines and various drinks from around the world. Alternative, but as I said, I mean from the caverns, this is one of the largest caverns. Now we are at Tou Steki Tou Ilia. This is in the Tisio area, under Monastraki. Okay. A beautiful gardened and different place. It has both an indoor area and an outdoor area. What are we going to eat here? Milk lamb chops. Bro, super. One of my favorite things. Then let me put it this way. When you want to eat meat like this, apart from seafood. This is one of the places where people can come. In the center of Athens. We can actually say it’s just a bit outside the center. Right now we are under Monastiraki, in the area we call Tisio, we are just above it. In fact, the train station is right next to us. There is really a place with a garden and an indoor area here. A special restaurant. It’s actually a classic basic, isn’t it? Classic and local. Local. Nice. I really don’t see any tourists around right now. In fact, there is a larger area over there. It’s all full of Greeks. Everyone has come to eat. Very nice. Are the prices a bit more reasonable here compared to outside? Since it’s not touristy, the prices are actually fair. But let me put it this way. The taste is 90%-95% local flavors. We’ll see that in a bit. Especially, we are excitedly waiting for the lamb chop. Honestly, I will try it. You just said something. So, you placed an order. What did we say? Now we have milk-fed lamb chop. Milk-fed lamb chop. Cacik, one of the most famous dishes here. Greek cacik. Horta. It is a special herb with greens. Okay. It will go well with the meat. French fries. A must-have. We are very happy. One of our national dishes. Exactly. It is a national dish of both countries. Both countries love potatoes very much. Okay. I want to chat a little. Until the food arrives. Now you are doing the Golden Visa business here. Actually, you are providing consultancy. Yes. And you are managing that process. To make an investment for people here. on how to do it when they want. You provide complete consultancy from A to Z. How does the process work and Turkish citizens? wanting to make an investment here or someone who wants to buy a house here What kind of benefits does a person gain? And what is actually the phenomenon we call Golden Visa? What is Golden Visa? The Golden Visa is actually a program established by the European Union. It is currently valid in Greece in Europe. a residence right in Greece, I would say the right to benefit from education and healthcare services. In the current situation, people here when they make an investment of 250 thousand euros or more, they can acquire a property from commercial to residential, they can buy it for their children, or they can buy it for themselves. It varies according to these situations. When they make an investment, the Greek government, together with the European Union… will provide a Golden Visa right. Meanwhile, something with music started. Very nice. It wouldn’t be possible if you wanted. Then let’s drink. Cheers. Welcome, bro. The musicians moved to the side. That’s why we can talk a little more comfortably right now. We have three dishes that arrived. These herbs look very nice. Here we have a saganaki cheese and there is tzatziki. But the tzatziki needs to be described a bit more specially. Yes. One of the special tzatzikis here is called caciki. Especially from this place. They really make it with a natural recipe. So what is the characteristic of tzatziki actually? The characteristic of Greek tzatziki. Firstly, it’s made from strained yogurt. It’s really from strained yogurt with a clotted cream consistency. It tends to be high in fat content. Absolutely. After grating the cucumber used, the water is removed using a cheesecloth. This is actually the most important thing. This is the big difference. We don’t do this. Ours tends to be a bit watery. Theirs is not watery. After doing this, tzatziki is actually the real tzatziki, the original. In the real recipe, garlic is quite intense. However, in places like this and in tourist spots they don’t put the garlic with that real intensity. Normally, in a tzatziki served in this kind of portion actually in the real, original recipe There should be two cloves of garlic. A slightly lightened version. Dill or mint can be added optionally. Yes. Of course, one of the essentials is vinegar. Vinegar. Grape and apple vinegar, but as far as I know, grape vinegar is predominant. I squeeze lemon like this, though. Super. Is it not suitable for you? Very good. They actually love acidity. So in Greek cuisine, acidity is lemon. Lemon, is squeezed on everything, including meat. Yes. I cut this in half. They are having a blast back there. I mean, I want to go there and have fun right now. Let me give it like this. Thank you. Saganaki is actually a cooking method. It means cooking in a pan. But this cheese is a special cheese. It is cooked in a pan and called Saganaki. Actually, everyone has knowledge. It looks a bit like a raw pastry. Because of the layer inside. The best one is the one that doesn’t leave much oil and the one that has this yellow color we see. Not darker or lighter. It’s actually a golden yellow color. How? It’s so good. It has left its oil so nicely. Doesn’t it really look like a pastry? Like a pastry and one of the best I’ve had so far. I didn’t expect such a good cheese. It’s really very good. Dude, look at the music in the background. I think the music playing right now. the sweetness playing inside our stomachs It’s very numbing. What do you say? Definitely, dude. Okay. We were just talking now, but it was left unfinished. How much investment is needed to get a Golden Visa? Actually, there was a system change last August until December. There are actually 3 different systems. The investment that has turned from commercial to residential is 250 thousand euros. Is that the thing? They are putting it into renovation, right? Thank you. Yes, the points that are under renovation. The islands that are 400 thousand euros. Islands that are below a certain settlement. Or a regular apartment, a regular residential property, any kind of an apartment if you want to buy it It should be 120 square meters and 800 thousand euros. This is the minimum limit. A lot of money. 99% of Turks are like this. the standard one that is 250 thousand euros investments coming from commercial to residential What does it mean to go from commercial to residential? I know, but let me explain a bit more. So it used to be a business place. It has been renovated and a new house has been built. It is sold after renovation. There is a limit of 250 thousand euros. The starting price begins at 250 thousand. An old business place, an old government office, it could be an old commercial establishment. It could be a shop, it could be an office, it could be a building. But they are generally small, right? They are usually 1+1 or 2+1. Actually, there are also larger places. However, in the current situation, these are limited sales. And construction companies usually do renovations at these types of locations and provide you with a completely reset property, The electrical and plumbing installations are completely reset, and it is delivered furnished as a turnkey property. And at this point, construction companies, there are many construction companies. Local, foreign. To create more apartments, they are slightly reducing the square meters. Now we are used to 130, 140, 150, 200 square meters in Turkey. Yes, can you find a place in those square meters here? You can find it. But these prices will be much higher. So when you get the Golden Visa, I’m saying this as far as I know. You, your spouse, your child, your mother, your father can benefit. Does your child also benefit until the age of 21? That’s correct information. Also, there is a different situation in Greece. Children over the age of 11 can normally obtain a Golden Visa. In such a case, the child, the child’s parents, the child’s future spouse, the future spouse they will marry and the child’s future children can also benefit from this. There is such a law in Greece. Therefore, we have done many transactions of this kind. Those who already have a Golden Visa. and unmarried children the person they are currently going to marry’s and their children’s Golden Visa is ready. Well, let me ask this. What benefits does someone who obtains a Golden Visa receive? Firstly, as far as I know, without obtaining a visa that is, without obtaining a Schengen visa They can travel within European Union countries. There is free movement. They no longer need to buy an exit stamp for traveling abroad. After all, even if they are a Turkish citizen. They have the right to exit abroad because they have a residence card. First of all, there is a sales transaction just like in Turkey. However, to be honest, the documents and procedures here are a bit lengthy. After approximately 1.5 to 2 months of the sales process, within a certain period, we issue a document called Blue Paper. The Blue Paper actually indicates that the person has made an investment in Greece. and a document that allows entry and exit to the country without a visa. Here, the information and details are written. Because this person, after obtaining the Golden Visa, they won’t need to come here to give their fingerprints. For someone without a visa or someone whose visa has expired. when this document is issued before the residence card. until the Golden Visa arrives with this card, Turkey or it could be a different point. can enter and exit between Greece. Very nice. One of the immediate questions is: Can I go to other countries with this card, other than Greece? Unfortunately, you cannot. Because these are the transactions and procedures between Greece and Turkey, actually a right granted by the Greek government, the Greek state. You can go after obtaining the card, the Golden Visa, though. As soon as the Golden Visa card is issued. in all European countries can travel as they wish. After obtaining the passport and residence card at the point they wish, the travel they wish, in all 23 Schengen countries as well can travel as they wish. from health and education services as well of course, they can benefit under different statuses. Very nice. Those who contact us through social media, or those who reach out through references or other points, first we chat on WhatsApp. Okay. Then either I or someone from the team calls them and we listen to their stories. Okay. You find out what they want. Why do you need a Golden Visa? How many people are in your family, do you have a child, do your child have siblings? Which region do you want, what kind of transactions do you want to make? Unfortunately, there is generally such a situation of course. Everyone wants to have a summer house. Thessaloniki, Alexandroupoli; let’s go and come back. Actually, it’s a very nice system but when it comes to reality, the rents there, the purchasing conditions and when you look at the situations there must be a return on this in the end. People will want to get back the money they invested from the rent at some point. At this point, the most logical place to get the actual rental amount is of course Athens right now. The capital. That’s why after listening to the story depending on exactly what they want, we provide a consulting service in that way. On top of that, you are also providing a solution for those who want to explore Athens individually. So actually, you are not doing that part, but there is a team that you have. Actually, yes. So this is how it happened already. Now, the clients we provide the Golden Visa service to say, Hey Genco, I am with my family, there are 12 of us. I want to rent a VIP catamaran and explore the islands. Can you provide us with a service regarding this? We want to get support from you. Hey Genco, we bought a house from you, but we haven’t explored Athens yet. Let’s come for four days. You or someone from your team can show us around. Let’s do something like this. Or Greece, There can be people who want to explore different places outside of Athens. According to these incoming requests, it has actually become a developing system. Or some companies say, I want to hold an event in the islands during the summer. I want to promote my brand. I want to participate in a brand event in Europe. Or for Turks coming to the islands or the mainland, I want to hold an event with a Turkish brand in the islands. We have experienced such things. Such brands have also come. Nice. We also provide services. Nice, very nice. You also have an Instagram account. An account called comegreece. Yes, exactly. Let’s write it down below so that it’s easy to find. Thank you. There, you actually share where you can go while traveling. And also beyond the well-known ones. You also share unknown places. Generally, it goes like this. My spouse is from here, Greek. We usually go on vacation a few times a year. I like to take photos and videos. and I love sharing the places I visit with people. Because at this point, from the people we serve these questions also come. So, Genco, which island should we go to? We will go to a Greek island for the first time. Where should we go? Well, where do we go to a place with nice taverns? But actually, there is no answer to this question. Let’s go to a Greek island, where should we go? There are about 25-30 different criteria for this. What exactly do you want? Entertainment? Sightseeing? Food? Culture? Is it your first time going? Do they have children? Do they have a family? Should there be Turks on the island or not? This is a question, of course. The season and period are also very important. According to this, there are places. I actually have no expectations at all. I shared the places I went and the information. A website called comgreece. Yes. An English site. But there is a special beach here. You can go here. There is this restaurant on the beach. Honestly, I am sharing the experiences I have had. Very nice. Well, if we go back to the beginning of the topic. Now you are touring Athens. but when people come They planned a 3 to 4 day trip here. Food and drink are okay. In this video and in the previous video I made. They will have gone to beautiful places in some way. Where should they go next? So, should the Acropolis definitely be included? Or in Athens, especially everyone is crowded in the center. A vehicle to somewhere outside the center. Is it necessary to rent a car and go? It would be nice if you could mention these as well. Actually, generally the people who come Let’s outline a route for a 3 to 4 day stay. Okay. The route starts at the top in Kolonaki. Okay. Below is Syntagma, which is the Constitution Square where the parliament is located. Directly opposite is Ermou Street. When you go down from there, you reach Monastiraki. Right next to it is the Psiri area. we saw together What we visited today. The Tisio area where we are currently located is below Monastiraki. This is actually a classic. It is a classic route. I came here a little bit for this too, you know. If you want to see historical places, then the Acropolis. There is an archaeological section at the Acropolis. It is open, as we all know. There is also a museum. But if I really want to visit the museum in detail and see its story. Or if I get some support to see this through a professional guide. If you want to watch and listen, this takes about 4 hours. There are a lot of artifacts in the Acropolis Museum. But as a local, I can say this. Generally, everyone gets stuck at this point. They get stuck on this route I mentioned. I always give an example of this in my own way. As a person from Istanbul. When someone asks where to visit in Istanbul, we don’t say Eminönü, Beşiktaş, Karaköy, or Sultanahmet. There are much more beautiful, and much more different places in Istanbul. There is Beykoz, there is Bağdat Avenue, and there is Pendik, There is Tuzla too. There is Bebek. Absolutely. Every part of the Bosphorus is very beautiful in our country. We usually think of the center. We always think of the old city, but actually there are more beautiful places to go. Because people don’t want to rent cars. Because people stay in the center and finding parking in the center is really a hassle. You are right about this. There are very few paid parking lots. But after staying here for 3-4 days, for example, there is currently an area where holiday hotels are located. People often ask if we can go to the sea in Athens. There is really a beautiful sea in Athens. From the center we are in, it takes about half an hour, 40 minutes towards the airport, Glifada, If you go towards Voula, Vouliagmeni, there are really both private beaches that require a fee and beaches that people can enter for free. In fact, let me put it this way, if you are lucky at the airport and you are descending from the sea side, you can see those beaches when you look down. When you see the color of the sea, you will understand what I mean. It’s very beautiful. When you want to go to the islands again going from Athens it would make more sense, right? So if you want to go to unknown islands. Definitely. So from there, you can get there in 20-25 minutes by car. You are going to Piraeus, to the Piraeus Port. At this point, there are nearby islands. Here is Aegina, Hydra, Poros. There are places you can reach in a few hours from these points. Besides that, if you travel for about 4-5 hours, Mykonos, Santorini, Milos, there are various islands like this. But these islands are not limited to just these. Because there are more than 200 islands you can visit. In Greece. In Greece and in the bilateral region. We actually always know the islands between Turkey and Greece and the classic 12 islands. Actually, there are also islands on the Italian side of Greece. We never thought about that side. The sea there is bluer. Is it? And greener. Which island should one go to there, for example? Of course, it depends on what you want to do. Corfu. Yes. Ithaca Island is my favorite island. I would recommend that, for example, it’s full of greenery. Is there good food there? Absolutely. Is there? Okay then, maybe we can go there on a trip one day. Sure, why not. Honestly, if it works out, it would be great if we can arrange it. At least we would show a different island. Yes. It could be something nice and fun. Besides that, of course, Lefkada. Lefkada. Lefkada is actually a destination for most honeymoon couples. one of the islands they come to. Okay, get well soon. If there are any viewers who are getting married right now. Lefkada has made it to the list by the ladies. How can they get to Lefkada? From Istanbul or any point to Athens. They can come to Athens and go directly by plane. Or they can come to Athens and directly from Athens by taking a taxi from the airport in 4.5 to 5 hours. Lefkada has this particular feature. Lefkada is actually connected to the mainland by a bridge. There is a drawbridge. And therefore, you can directly cross to the island by car. Very nice. That is nice too. We have ferries, short-distance ferries, For example, the Bozcaada ferry, It’s around 4,000 to 5,000 lira. It’s almost reached those figures. As far as I know here, if I remember correctly, there is no fee. Of course, there are highway fees and a few bridge fees, but. So right now, you can just jump in and after 4-5 hours. If we say let’s go, we can be in Lefkada. Nice. You didn’t get any of this. Get some from the grass. Let’s try it. Let me take this downpour away. Okay. By the way, our meat is also cooking. I mentioned we have lamb chops. We also have some nice potatoes on the side. He’s coming too. This is pretty much stuck together. It looks a bit like a bicep. Yes. But I recommend squeezing lemon on this. This is actually cibes. It’s something we really love, the cibes we know. And when you squeeze lemon on it, it looks really nice and I think it goes very well with the acidity. I’m wearing my glasses because the sun is out. Alright. Let’s get started. Please go ahead. Please, Mr. Genco. Paidakia. I mean lamb chops. By the way, Genco, what did you do before? I mean when you were in Turkey. I came here in 2017-2018. Before that, I worked at Borusan Otomotiv in Istanbul as a Jaguar Land Rover sales specialist for many years. Then, due to different circumstances, I decided to live abroad. Marriage also played a part in that. Yes, actually at that point we made a decision and came here, let’s say. Very nice. I’m sure many people are also wondering if they can do this job, but it just takes a little effort, spending time and wanting it is also necessary, right? Living abroad because deciding to come here all of a sudden is not easy. Making a decision is easy. Thinking about making a decision is very easy in these processes, but when it really comes to the implementation stage, there are many criteria and it’s not as easy as it seems. Yes, I guess so. I have many friends who have moved. My brother moved to Amsterdam. It’s really not easy to make a decision. Especially if you’re used to Turkey and you love it here, it’s not easy to give up on certain things. Of course. Food is one of those things. Do you miss the food, for example? Well, the biggest advantage of this place is actually this. Now I can say this about here. It’s neither fully European nor not, it’s a mix of all of them. And there’s this situation. I live in Athens, Greece, but Athens is 550 kilometers from Istanbul by plane. Yes. Antalya to Istanbul is, if I’m not mistaken, 900 kilometers by plane. So we are very close. It looks like one to one and a half hours, but the plane lands in Istanbul in 50 minutes. When I jump on the plane, I sit directly at a kokoreç place in Istanbul. One of your favorite things is kokoreç. Let me put it this way: when I go to Istanbul, after I get off the plane, I always stop by a kokoreç place before going home. Yes. My spot is in Bostancı. Those who know, know. From there, I go home. Nice. I have such a route. Honestly, you’re awesome. By the way, the chop is very nice. There is a little bit of bone in it. There are bone pieces. You need to eat carefully. Actually, they cut the chop quite thin. There is something like this. Here, the butchers are from Turkey. They don’t do such fine craftsmanship. Yes. Generally, they cut the meat with a cleaver. That’s why they cut it. Bone pieces can remain. I recommend that you be careful. Yes. To keep the teeth strong. But here’s the thing Shall we not go in with our hands? Actually, that’s the truth. Come on, go in with your hands. It becomes more delicious. Sounds came but I hope we didn’t break a tooth. Did you hear? It’s quite fatty. But it’s nice. As you said, just when eating a little you need to be careful. This lemon next to the meat is very common here. In the meatballs too. They squeeze it on meat too if they want. Or well on chicken too. They really love acidity here, don’t they? I mean, they squeeze a lot of lemon on some things. For example, in Gaziantep, they squeeze a lot of lemon on meats. To provide acidity. To balance the flavors. At the same time, different tastes. You get it too, you know. The taste of the meat, the burnt taste, the taste of that charcoal smoke. The flavor from the lemon. They love it here. Lemon-flavored sour meat, sour chicken. By the way, it’s quite delicious. It’s really nice. There are many places like this, but they ask where we can eat in the city? We eat local food. This is really one of the places where you can eat a good milk lamb in the city. Yes. You can come in the evening too, but I think during the day it should be a different flavor. In the evening, the inside is open. During the day, the outside is on the garden side. So there are two alternatives. But whether it’s summer or winter, it’s a nice spot that can provide service. A quiet, peaceful place. Only a train passes by sometimes, but it’s a pleasant location. In Athens, especially in this area, this famous one. there’s nothing like that. Take this to the airport. You can also eat at a place that is very close. There are local places behind the airport. You can eat on the beach. You can also eat in Glyfada. Oh of course, fish. for example, where can you eat casual fish? I have two places I can recommend. I am staying in central Athens and looking for casual fish. Somewhere I can go and eat without a car. One of them is Atlantikos. In general, those who research usually find it. There is no reservation at Atlantikos and when you go there. half an hour, sometimes 40 minutes You need to go considering the wait. Yes. But in terms of taste, it’s really good. A bit more casual, in a different neighborhood if you say a little higher There is a restaurant operated by a brother and sister in Lesbos. Where is it? It’s called Ouzeri Lesvos. Oh nice. It’s the same on Google. is available in that way. These two are very similar to each other. Ouzeri Lesvos is a bit more focused on the flavors of Lesbos. Atlantikos is a bit more touristy. I think it’s good. Yes. Locally that’s my observation. But both are in the city in the center where you can go without a car, answering the question of where to eat casual fish. Very nice. By the way, we ordered half a kilo of meat. I think it’s enough for two people. a meat. So don’t miss out on the other flavors by eating a kilo. That’s why half a kilo is always suitable. I really liked it. Especially, I liked the cheese a lot. The saganaki was really good. The cacık was very good. This was also very fresh. It was very nice. So we didn’t eat anything bad here. Yes. Our bill has arrived. A total of 35 euros. So half a kilo of meat, cacık, cheese and a salad like this. Exactly. Cacık is 4.5. Everything that came before is also 4.5. Only the meat plate is 20 euros. There is half a kilo of meat. Yes. We also have water for one and a half euros. In total, it’s 35 euros. I think Isn’t it very delicious and reasonably priced? I mean especially the cheese is more expensive in many places. Yes. Let me put it this way. For example, let me give an example from Cacık. If you go anywhere for Cacık, in the current situation, we are in 2025. At any point if it’s between 3.5 and 5 euros this place is completely it is a local place. Is that so? Yes. if it’s above 5 this is a somewhat touristy place. above 7 Is there? There is. If you see 7 or 8 euros, avoid it. Don’t eat at that place, in other words. They become touristy. It becomes fully touristy. Welcome welcome bro. Hello bro. Yes. That’s exactly how it happened. Come this way, bro, with your wife. They take it later. I would say thank you and exit through the other door. From a place that costs 8-9 euros. We are now which direction are we going from the center? Yes, from the center. We will go to the Palaio Faliro area. By the seaside A place called Edem. of the Greeks too walking on the beach or on the weekend with stools together on the sand by the seaside delicious fish and seafood can be eaten a beautiful spot. Then we’ll see each other there. See you. By the way, they didn’t bring the potatoes. That’s why we fell off the bill. We said that too, though. Here’s the situation. The waiter apologized a lot. Me too again I checked. They didn’t write down the potatoes. Didn’t they write it down? Yes. Things like this can happen. This is Greece. Even the Greeks’ there is a famous shelf related to this topic. This is Greece. This is Greece. Sometimes things like this can be forgotten. The same things happen to us too. We generally say this is Turkey. But we already resemble each other. after all. Things can be forgotten. You’re right. If you don’t write it down, it will be forgotten. Yes. Words are fleeting, writing is permanent. That’s a true statement. This is something an old teacher of mine used to say. That’s why we also put our signature on YouTube. Now we are going into the city to take our vehicle. We will take it. That’s why we said let’s take a metro. Because you said you wanted to see public transport. Let’s see some public transport then. Yes. Let’s see our metro for public transport. How much was it? I think it was around 1.5 euros. 1.25. 1.25. Valid for 90 minutes. Valid for 90 minutes, unlimited in the meantime. So you went somewhere. You have 10 minutes of work. You will transfer to another place with the same metro. You can tap again. Nice. A ticket valid for 90 minutes. 1.25 Normally a ticket but My suggestion for those coming for 3-4 days is, to buy a 3-4 day pass ticket when they exit the airport. If they also add this to the airport metro or bus… Is it still unlimited? Unlimited. Nice. We are now going to the final stop with Genco’s car. But when you get here, you can take a taxi or come with Uber, right? Or rent a car. Car rental. But usually Uber or taxi works fine. Even if you call an Uber, a regular taxi comes. Is that right? That’s right. There is an app here called Uber or Freenow. In all of them, a taxi comes again. But of course, it’s safer than hailing a taxi on the street. Because the route you will take, the distance, the one who holds, holds on, credit card payment, you can do everything. We are currently in the Palaio Faliro area. We are actually very close to the beach. We can say this is a neighborhood where old Istanbulites lived. You can hear a lot of Turkish in these streets. There are Turkish restaurants. There is an old restaurant called Sweet Melek that we just passed. Sweet Angel. Besides that, there is a place called Fıstık Fıstıki. A few other grocery stores, there are alternative places like markets here. Nice. Therefore, I can say that it is a neighborhood very much like ours. You can reach the sea in 100 meters by tram. Nice, it is a pleasant neighborhood. It is completely a local neighborhood. Those coming from Istanbul are usually here, right? As a family, they chose this place. When I say Istanbulites, I mean Istanbul Greeks, Armenians, and recently, Turks coming from Istanbul, our clients who have obtained Golden Visas, this is actually one of the locations they have chosen. It resembles Izmir a bit. This visual actually represents the moment you reach the beach, which is exactly what Izmirians say, this is the area that is said to resemble Izmir. Tram, palm trees, and the road. It looks very beautiful. I think it’s a road that feels very familiar. Yes, where have we come now? We are at Edem beach. Actually, we also mentioned it as Palaio Faliro, but it is also referred to as Edem here. The restaurant’s name is Edem, and the neighborhood’s name is also Edem. By the way, it’s very beautiful. It’s like a place similar to our Suadiye. You showed us around the streets. Yes, it really resembles it. It feels like we are in one of the most stylish places in Greece. Actually, this place is a bit touristy, a little local. But there are great seafood options. We are on stools over the sea. In fact, there are people swimming right now. They are swimming in the sea. I can’t say I wasn’t tempted, that’s not a lie. Right at the evening sun. The sun is also behind us. Let’s show it like this. It looks very beautiful. Yes Genco, you’ve brought us to an amazing place, really. Thank you. Under normal circumstances, if I were looking myself, I probably wouldn’t have found this place. I think I wouldn’t come here easily if someone didn’t recommend it. From what I can see, life here is a bit more relaxed, a bit more calm. There are probably a lot of Turks living here, right? Yes. Let me say it’s a bit more like summer with the people. Right now, it’s the sea season, but as we go down to the beach, actually. I mean, the city center is very beautiful. But it’s a bit crowded and a bit more touristy. As long as you go down to the beach, by car, metro, or taxi, there are different places. When we go from here to the other side, to the airport, it actually takes about an hour, if we go for another hour and a half. There are many places like this on the beach. So my recommendation is either Athens, Monastiraki, Sintagma, etc., very beautiful. But people shouldn’t get stuck there. They should go to the beach too. They should go to other places as well. From here, they can actually book Airbnb homes. There are hotels too, I think. In this area, there are actually a lot of Airbnbs in the Palaio Faliro area. Yes. They can find places very easily on the beach. Those who want to do long-term rentals can probably come, right? I mean, those who want to stay for a month, two months, or more. There are also expats who come and work, managers, etc. at this point. The area they generally choose is this area. This could be someone coming from Turkey. It could also be a manager coming from France, the UK, or any European country. This area is generally chosen by such working people, Palaio Faliro. Nice. The eggplant has arrived, I think. Yes, eggplant puree. Melitzano salad. Right now, the specialty of this restaurant is that, around 7 – 7:30 – 8 is exactly sunset time. Yes. Therefore, these hours are the busiest hours. Right now is the best time for the sun. It’s really burning. Probably when I return to Turkey. This side will probably be red, this side will be white. They will notice that in the next video. They will notice, exactly. We will be red and white. Did you burn? I burned a little. Yes Genco, where do we start? As you wish. Let’s start with cheese then. It’s become a habit. Saganaki. We tried it a little while ago at another place. Yes. Let’s try this one too. We will be able to make a comparison. Shall I serve you then? I would be very happy. We put our acidity again. Again the same crispy sound, golden yellow color. These are the criteria. I’m immediately serving my dear spouse as she is hungry today. She didn’t eat much while waiting for us. Thank you. Enjoy your meal. On the other hand, I think we should start getting the others too. Okay. For example, we have a nice garlic eggplant dip here. I love the eggplants from Greece. Do you know why? They use good olive oil in these. Thank you. Especially garlic is used a lot in appetizers, right? We can find it in almost all appetizers. In eggplants, in yogurts, in sauced appetizers. Of course, in cecik as well. For example, yogurt-based appetizers weren’t very common in our culture in the past, but actually, we do have a few appetizers, but not many. By the way, in Turkey’s taverns, sir, the meze culture has just started to emerge. 15 types of yogurt-based appetizers. I mean, they also add beetroot to this, it becomes beetroot yogurt. They add purslane, it becomes yogurt with purslane. It becomes Atom. It becomes Atom. The appetizers we prepare at home. actually in the tavern environment, they sell for very high prices. It’s not like that here. Here, there is always a certain standard. A certain standard. There are standard appetizers. And of course, we are in Athens right now. But let’s say if you want to eat Cretan food, when you go to a Cretan restaurant. No, But that fish looks nice. What fish is that? Is it sardine? Fried sardine. Should we order it? Do we have time? Yes, we do. I’ll say it. Do you want the honey thing too? Order that honey pastry, bro. Exactly. Can we place an order? The melitzanosalata looked nice. It’s gavros. Forget about the gavros. That looks good. Then let’s order it. Okay. They use a lot of garlic, right? Especially with olive oil. Yes. Almost in all appetizers. Garlic is used a lot in yogurt appetizers and other appetizers. Right now, let me put it this way. We are by the sea. We are at a point that can be called a standard fish restaurant in Athens. Besides this, there are different restaurants, for example. We haven’t experienced it, but a Cretan restaurant. In Crete, for example, goat and rice or similar dishes can have different flavors in different restaurants. Therefore, in every region of Greece, there can be different local specialties and flavors. In Athens, someone might not know a dish from Cretan cuisine. True. There are also different local flavors, local appetizers, local tastes there actually. Here, they generally use less salt, as far as I can see. In fact, they don’t use it at all. They let you add the salt yourself. Especially they put less salt so that at this point since they don’t know how to use salt, there won’t be a problem later on. The dishes come with a minimum amount of salt. Calamari. Calamari is nice. The ones underneath have collected some oil, but the ones on top are nice. But they fried it very well. I say we should eat this with our hands. Crispy. Fried zucchini. Nice. This is generally thicker than the other things I’ve eaten. You can feel the greens inside a bit more. They left it a bit wetter. But it seems like it absorbed a bit of oil. It might be because it sat for a while. It could be. Also, I think the others might have eaten it with yogurt. That’s right. Exactly. If you eat this with yogurt. But the zucchini is tasty. Zucchini is very delicious. I think the cheese is a bit saltier compared to the other one. What will you say about that? I said I would try it again to complain again. A bit salty. Very close. Yes. But the one from the previous place. The previous place was very good. So that tavern was very good. That place is completely 100% local. Yes, this place is also local. But foreigners also come here. one of the points. They make this honey pastry in many places. We saw it because he went to the table next to us. We ordered. Honey feta. It also has black cumin on top. Black cumin. Exactly. They make it in Turkey too, but they make a slightly different version of it. I’ve seen it in a few different restaurants. For example, 3 or 4 restaurants make it. But I think the one made with feta is nicer. Because feta cheese is unsalted. And it’s a bit like it neither melts nor doesn’t melt. It’s a cheese in the middle. The fat content is very good. They could actually make it very nicely with Ezine cheese. That’s right. There are also people who make it in Turkey. They call it yufka böreği. Usually, our mothers make it at home. It’s in the same style. But just pouring honey doesn’t come to our minds. Yes. Here I said, you know, sweet pastry, with cheese, honey. Yes. They use these kinds of things a lot. Sweet and salty are mixed a lot. Absolutely. For example, in the minced meat made at home, in meatballs, etc. cinnamon is also used. As far as I know, we don’t put cinnamon in minced meat in Turkey. Generally, Armenians can use it. In such mussels or meats, in meatballs. Cinnamon gives a slightly tangy taste, you know. Aromatic. Just like sweet. That’s why generally Greeks use it. Armenians use it. That’s why it’s of course something that is part of the culture here. You’re right. I think the mussels are very nice here. The mussels are nice. For example, they make sailor’s rice and such. They turn out very well. Personally, I love the classic mussels. It’s in a different category. But the mussels here are also nice. It is cooked with its water. When you come, you’ll already be eating that mussel. actually, the reason they release their water you should eat it with its water that taste is really… Yes. So that you can get the dominant flavor. We are discussing Greece with my spouse. There was a video I shot together. Last time we went to Barbounaki there. Barbounaki is a very nice restaurant. We had mussels there. I didn’t like it that much. You might ask why? I had it in Alexandroupoli. A little more like lemon sauce, with plenty of lemon, with plenty of olive oil sauce. I liked that one more. I think it’s about getting used to it. If you like it cooked with its own seawater, then yes, it will make you happy. I’m a bit more into olive oil and lemon. Yes, that’s exactly what I was going to say. It’s also about getting used to it for you. I’m into lemon too. Yes. But as you said, it’s related to getting used to it. So where did you live while you were normally in Istanbul? Kadıköy Göztepe. I was born and raised in Kadıköy, Göztepe. Very nice. For someone who has grown up in that area, this place is a place they won’t feel too foreign in. Right? It resembles a lot. Actually, here’s how it is. They usually say this. How would you describe Greece? Me and my friends living here like me. If we say 80s-90s Turkey. Of course, in general, there are pros and cons to this. We can say 80s-90s Turkey. It resembles Kadıköy. I find the side streets, Kolonaki, for example, very similar to Kadıköy. 90s Kadıköy. Yes, or a hill where Abdi İpekçi Boulevard is, there’s a roundabout there. That roundabout actually resembles that place a lot. In the morning, we went to a museum with you. That place is even like a scene from Hababam Class. It’s as if the kids are going to run like Adile Naşit. Is this ours? Yes. Did we say this too? I said it. Oh, let it be a surprise meal. By the way, how quickly the dishes came. Yes, bro, that’s really nice. We got three plates. One honey pastry, one fried anchovy came. And we have a shrimp with saganaki and tomato sauce. Fresh shrimp. Of course, we are right next to the sea. Being a sea country requires this. So where should we start? Shall we start with the pastry? The pastry will be sweet, but I hope it makes a sound. It’s good. Inside is feta cheese. Honestly, Genco is so enjoyable right now. I really loved it. Before it cools down, I want to taste this before it cools down. It looks very nice. Oh. Crispy. Like a snack, without bones. They say you can just gulp it down. Exactly. Onur even ate the tail. I’m eating the tail too. Plus, I’m not shaking out the bones inside. I mean, I believe anchovies can be eaten too. Generally, that’s how I eat them. It has a cheese flavor. It has a honey flavor. Followed by black cumin and sesame. It comes mixed. 4 sweet. Exactly. By the way, they cooked it very well. I mean, not too much, not too little. I’m taking the crispy parts with honey. That’s actually the most valuable part. Oh. Very good. Honestly, very good. For example, at that table next to us, there are others. They are eating. They are passing food to each other. Very nice. There, someone is eating a delicious pasta. I saw it. Very good. I mean, the atmosphere is very good. And it’s a very romantic setting. Are you aware? Of course, here’s a side note. If you come as a couple and the weather is really nice, not rainy or anything, not winter, I definitely recommend coming here. Let me repeat the same thing. Don’t get stuck in the center. Yes. So what are the best seasons to come to Athens? Of course, spring months, autumn, but I think coming in winter is nice too. Summer and winter in Athens are different seasons. People come for different types of tourism. Those coming from the North, those coming from Turkey, those coming from Europe. Let me put it this way, the holiday period for Greeks is actually between August 1st and August 20th. When you come between August 1st and August 20th, almost… I came. When I came, the city was completely empty. Most shops are closed. Restaurants appear to be open on Google, but they are closed when you go there. There is a sign at the door written in Greek that says ‘I am on vacation.’ You might encounter something like that. Therefore, August is also hot. For August, I recommend the islands and the locations below, especially the southern region. But other than that, if you also want the sea, May and June. both where you can swim in the sea, especially in May, is a beautiful season. Or actually, if you say as another season, instead of the sea, I want to explore the city a bit, and taste some gourmet flavors, the right time is actually now. So Genco, what is the food you miss the most in Turkey generally? What is the thing you can’t find here? Actually, we can find almost all flavors here. But of course, there are certain flavors that stand out. My youth, the ones I ate in Istanbul or Turkey during my childhood, and I always ordered them every time I went. The first one is mussels. Of course, the İzmir style mussels, that taste, flavor. An unforgettable taste for me. They serve it hot, right? Absolutely. But I definitely eat it whenever I go. The second one, of course, is my must-have, kokoreç. There is kokoreç here too. It’s like the one in Turkey, but here it’s definitely a liver kokoreç. And it doesn’t have the embers and other details inside. That’s why it’s the İzmir kokoreç. With cumin, coarsely chopped, quarter, half. Of. That’s a completely different point for me. I think kokoreç is available in many places, but I believe we are so used to the one made in Turkey that the way we like it is actually that. Absolutely. You should leave it a bit coarsely chopped so we can taste the meat. I don’t like those fine Istanbul-style cuts and such. Yes, I also love İzmir as an Istanbulite. Because the taste of that kokoreç is just like tomatoes, to dilute it with things like peppers, not to change it. To fully taste the kokoreç is that flavor in the İzmir style. It will be something that you can spread on bread. Absolutely. I will make a special kokoreç guide for you. You will watch it, buy a plane ticket, come here, and we will eat together. I will come. Okay? I promise. We agreed. By the way, I really liked the shrimp, fresh. Everything on the table is very nice, very meticulous. The plates are very beautiful, spotless. Small, I think they are truly sincere portions. Filling by the way, I mean, when I say small, I don’t mean extravagant plates. The plates are small but the portions are big. Yes. Here, I can say that in some of them, in one or two, I saw they were oily, that was due to the fact that we let them sit. There was some oil accumulation, but I think there is nice frying. Overall, very good. Now, only the potatoes are frozen. I feel the same way, after all, aside from the nice things, you know maybe there are things that can be fixed. I think putting some yogurt next to the pumpkin could make it a bit more relaxing. The second one, yes, In Greece, normally 90% is hand-cut. and fresh potatoes come. But here, I think this density… I think it’s because they couldn’t grow them. I think so too. That’s why they use ready-made potatoes. Maybe they can change these in the future. By the way, the longer the pumpkin waits, the better it gets. The type of pumpkin is very good, its taste is very good. Definitely. And they fried it to perfection. The fish is the same way. Right now it’s really better. Maybe the taste has settled, I don’t know. Honestly, I enjoyed it a lot. We really set a table in Athens that I never imagined. Thank you so much, Genco. I was very happy, I liked it. You showed me the city, for Athens, you took me to the most beautiful restaurants, to the most beautiful places. That’s why I really want to thank you again. Thank you again and again. Thank you. As I said, I live locally here. These are my chosen preferences. There is no right or wrong in this. There can be alternatives, but I wanted to show you the places I constantly visit, that I have tried with my wife. This is the beauty of this job, this concept. It’s what you want, to go to the places you have been in your life I want it too, and I want to reflect that. I want to talk about someone. What is important to me, this is also important for the audience. Because you see that I am not filming an ordinary humanity. It was the same in the Bursa guide as well. You really have such a good and long relationship among you. there are people who have been following me for a long time. Let it be a memory with them and also for you. I want to show a little bit of what you are doing. That’s why if you invite me, not just to Turkey, as you can see from all over the world, we started with foreign guides. Of course, of course, always. I would be very happy if you send an invitation in the comments. Why don’t we come to your city and shoot together there? Well then, thank you very much again. Thank you. Do you want to say anything else? We are waiting for everyone in Athens. Everyone to Athens. Of course. Yes, and regarding the Golden Visa. especially if there is something you would like to ask You can definitely reach Genco. I would be happy to help. Our Instagram accounts are here. Genco’s is there too. You can definitely stay in touch. Our bill has arrived, but of course I will need help because it’s written in Greek. Let me help you. Yes, French fries 4.5 euros. Zucchini 6.5. Eggplant 6.5. They wrote 3 euros for bread and cutlery. Saganaki cheese 6.5. Yes, for the sweet one. Calamari 13 euros. 1 liter of water 2 euros. They wrote 19 for the shrimp in the pan. They wrote 19. Coke 3.5 euros. We have beer. Besides that, we have anchovies, gavros, and also feta cheese 7 euros. Anchovies 10 and feta 7. Yes, I think it’s quite nice. A total of 86. 3 people had a meal. Let me put it this way, actually it’s too much for 3 people. I think my table is for 4, maybe 5 people right now. It depends on the person. I always say, if you have a guy like me, you need 2 of them. finish the table. But I think you need to come here hungry. Next time I come, I will definitely I want to come hungry and enjoy the taste. Now of course eating so many things at once was a bit too much for today’s pace. Yes, it was quite a lot for today’s pace. Just think, we started with croissants in the morning. It feels like it was just yesterday, doesn’t it? I usually feel that way too. The first stop always feels like we did it yesterday. But you showed us some really beautiful places throughout the day. We tried some really delicious flavors together. Thank you very much. Thank you. It was a very enjoyable day. I also want to say this. You know, I saw the behind-the-scenes of the work. Really, even if it’s just a half-hour or an hour-long video. There is effort from morning till evening. That’s why I wish you ease. Thanks, thank you. Eating and the details, there are really a lot of details. Eating is my job. That’s why I do it with pleasure, but filming is a bit tiring. There is really no lie. But I am glad to have met you and to be with you. I am very happy to have filmed a video together. I am very happy too. That’s why I thank you very much again. Me too. I was with you again in a nice video. We tasted very nice flavors for you in Athens while exploring the city. Please don’t forget to like and hype the video, and of course, subscribe to the channel. And of course, I would be very happy if you support me in your comments, if you have any new suggestions, please write them in the comments. I am also waiting for your invitations in the comments to invite me to your own city. Next week on Thursday at 7 PM, I will be back with a new video. See you soon. Goodbye. Tülin says goodbye too.
