A BRAND new seasonal menu that’s perfect for the time of year has been unveiled at one of the best steakhouses in the Midlands.
Delivering perfectly balanced flavour combinations that’s reflective of the season, the new menu is available at Marco Pierre White’s Steakhouse Bar & Grill at The Manor Hotel, Meriden, and I was lucky enough to visit and sample the new menu.
Now, normally as a vegetarian I tend to avoid a steakhouse.
But having looked at the menu, I decided the veggie options were too good not to try, and my partner was dying to try their famous steak.
Included among the eye-catching starters is a box tree chicken liver parfait. There is also seared scallops, baked camembert, cream of cauliflower velour and colonel mustards scotch egg.
I went for the camembert which was simply to die for, the bread that it was served with was still warm, and the cheese had a lovely combination of flavours. My partner had the scotch egg and proudly professed it was the best he had ever had.
The range of main courses is equally eclectic.
Sitting alongside the popular range of signature, classic and larger, sharing steaks, diversity is a theme throughout the menu, with stand-out plates including Pierre Koffmann’s daube of boeuf, grilled salmon béarnaise, fillet steak with garlic prawns and black truffle ricotta ravioli.
We had the garlic prawns and black truffle ricotta ravioli and we so impressed. They were plated beautifully, and were super filling.
We unfortunately couldn’t manage a dessert but for those who can, there is caramelised apple and pear tart, Mr Coulson’s sticky toffee pudding and a traditional bread and butter pudding.
Ouissem Mzihi, restaurant and bar manager said: “The new menu reflects everything that’s wonderful and exciting about Marco’s food philosophy, with special dishes to suit every palate and budget.
“Top quality steaks sit alongside a varied range of plates inspired by the best of British and French cooking and makes this restaurant one of the best places to dine out this autumn.
“The menu has been designed to complement the vibrant atmosphere in the restaurant, meaning our guests can feel inspired by the choice of food on offer and enjoy their dining experience at the same time.
“We also have in place an amazing set-menu offer which provides guests the opportunity to enjoy two courses for just £20.95. Called the 1961, it pays homage to Marco’s birth year and includes dishes taken from the main à la carte. It’s incredible value for money and is available Monday to Thursday from 12 noon until 5.00pm.
“The menu has also been elevated thanks to a collaboration with famed wine producer Laurent-Perrier where we have a dedicated section on the à la carte menu with highlighted pairing recommendations plus bespoke exclusive cocktails for our guests.
“It means guests can savour the season even more and make their visit an experience they will never forget.”
