Smoked to perfection and finished with a sweet, tangy cider glaze, this dish delivers smoky, juicy goodness with a bright fruitiness from grilled apples. Perfect for outdoor cooks looking to impress—simple, savory, and downright delicious.
Servings: 2-4
Prep Time: 20 Minutes
Cook time: 3 ½ hours
Ingredients:
Bear Mountain BBQ Holiday Turkey BBQ Pellets
4 pork chops (8-10oz each)
sweet BBQ rub
2 apples – halved and cored
1 tbsp brown sugar
½ tsp cinnamon
1 cup of apple cider
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
2 tbsp Dijon mustard
2 tbsp brown sugar – packed
2 tbsp butter
Steps:
Preheat your smoker to 400°F with Bear Mountain BBQ Holiday Turkey pellets.
While the smoker is preheating, pat your pork chops dry and season generously with your favorite sweet barbeque rub.
Place your apple halves cut-side down on the hot smoker grates and sear until lightly caramelized, then remove.
Sear your pork chops on both sides for 2 – 3 minutes per side until golden brown.
Reduce the smoker temperature to 250°F for finishing. Place your pork chops and apples opposite from the heat and smoke until the pork chops reach 145°F internally.
While the pork chops finish cooking, combine apple cider, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, and brown sugar in a small saucepan.
Simmer until reduced by about half, roughly 10 minutes, then whisk in butter and set aside.
About 10 minutes before the pork chops are done, brush them with the apple cider glaze. Continue smoking until they reach 145°F.
Remove from the smoker and let the pork chops rest for about 5 minutes before slicing then serve with smoked apple and drizzle with extra glaze.

Hey, this is Miguel with Miguel’s Cooking with Fire. Let’s make this delicious apple cider glazed pork chops and some grilled apples. I’m going to be using Bare Mountain Bbecue limited edition holiday turkey blend barbecue pellets. It’s going to impart that nice and sweet flavor, nice and smoky. Go ahead and car out the apples right in the center. Hit them with a little sugar and some cinnamon. First, I’m going to go ahead and forward sear the pork chops. Get them a nice char. Then, place them opposite of the heat as well as the apples. Get them nice and charred up. Make that sauce. I got a little oil, butter, brown sugar, dijon mustard, but you can find all the ingredients down below. Base the pork chops about 10 minutes before you pull them off. This way the sauce can set. Once you pull them off, let them rest for around 10 minutes before you slice into them. This came out absolutely fantastic. Go ahead and give it a go.
