Had a solo lunch at Clove Club today and truly enjoyed it. Welcoming environment and staff, first class ingredients, great flavours all throughout. I specially enjoyed the scallop and truffle and venison dishes. The potato and truffle dessert with complimentary white truffle was a nice surprise.

Also worth mentioning is the selection of wines by the glass. They have an extense old Madeira list, all available by the glass, also specific wine flights, with Barolo and Chateau D’Yquem. I got the Barolo wine flight with three 50ml glasses from the same producer (Giuseppe Rinaldi) which included a rare 2009 Le Coste – Brunato which they don’t produce anymore, and it was a remarkable experience.

Service was great, one of the waiters was portuguese, noticed my brazilian accent and explained all the dishes in portuguese which was nice.

Overall a great lunch with laid-back atmosphere and open kitchen which I love, specially for lunch. Would certainly go back when in London.

The sardine is one of my favorite dishes there. Great little place I don’t see getting mentioned too often.

Oof the wine looks great. Egon Muller is my favourite Mosel winemaker. Glad you had a good time the London food scene is outrageously good right now
