The Fast Food Rockers, known for their debut single, ‘Fast Food Song’, took to the stage as the headline act for the switch-on on November 16 in High Town.

Dressed in glittering outfits, the trio performed their hit Fast Food Song, familiar to most who grew up in the 2000s, in an energetic performance, before paying tribute to Hereford’s own Beefy Boys by substituting Pizza Hut in the song for the popular city restaurant.

The band is known exclusively for the Fast Food Song, bursting onto the scene with it in 2003, when it reached number two in the UK singles charts.

They reunited last year after disbanding in 2004.

Their set came after performances from local groups including Hereford Rock Choir and singers from Leominster’s One Vision School of Arts.

Sunshine Radio’s “favourite house band” Superficial Damage also took to the stage, putting on an impressive set.

Singer Katrina, formerly of Katrina and the Waves and known for hit song Walking on Sunshine also sang for the crowd that filled High Town.

The event, which is organised by Sunshine Radio and Hereford City Council, was free to the public, and began at 3.15pm, with the switch-on taking place at 5pm.
