So I also meant to make this last month but lord I was busy! I wanted to do SOMETHING with poppyseeds and couldn’t really think of anything too crazy, so I kept it simple. If y’all have any ideas on what ice cream to make with the rest of the poppyseeds I bought (preferably more adventurous), let me know! I haven’t been including recipes on previous ones, but I will now!
I kind of just followed https://www.davidlebovitz.com/vanilla-ice-cream/ without the vanilla bean, halving the vanilla extract amount, and added the following before chilling:
The zest of 2 lemons
The juice of 2 lemons
I personally added roughly around 3 tbsp of poppy seeds, I love them so I went heavy, but I’d argue 2 or less would be fine.
Additionally at the end, I mixed in about 5 oz of vanilla yogurt. Wanted to take almost a dreamsicle like route, but to be honest I’d probably skip out on this next time, didn’t go as I wanted it to, but it did make it creamier!
