Leaf miner, usually not a problem
I had a couple on my tomato plant last week. I removed the leaves and haven’t had an issue since. Not a big deal.
Edit to add…leafminers. Look it up & relax 😁
It’s just a common leaf miner. A bug lays its eggs inside the leaf, the eggs hatch inside, the larvae crawl around eating the leaf to grow, then exit the leaf. I think the most common culprit on mine is a type of fly.
It’s not terrible on its own, but the damaged leaf can be an entry point for actual disease in a few days. Remove heavily damaged leaves, check the undersides often for infection, and if your plants seem to be attracting too many leaf miners, you can spray spinosad (or your local, hopefully cheaper, equivalent) which will make the leaves toxic to several different types of leaf-eating bugs including leaf miners. It’s just damage control and revenge, not outright prevention, but it feels a lot better than being helpless. You can wrap bug netting as a physical barrier for prevention, too, but tomato plants get quite large so it’ll be a pain.
