Situated atop the sixth floor of the newly opened AC Hotel in Auburn, Alabama, Olivine is the city’s newest rooftop dining experience and a taste of Southern Italy in the heart of Alabama. The restaurant bridges two worlds: Auburn’s homegrown bounty and the sun-soaked flavors of Italy’s Campania region. The result is a first-of-its-kind destination for this college town—rustic yet refined, familiar yet transportive.

With 186 seats and year-round comfort ensured by heaters, fire pits, and a nano door that seamlessly connects the bar to the open-air terrace, Olivine offers panoramic views of downtown Auburn and the surrounding campus, and an inviting atmosphere in every season.

“Our menu embraces traditional, old-world cooking,” said Executive Chef Rick Yockachonis. “We want guests to experience classic Italian flavors and methods — slow cooking, wood fire, handmade pastas—elevated with the artistry and precision of French cuisine.”

The kitchen celebrates Alabama’s local ingredients while paying homage to Campania’s culinary heritage. Dishes highlight authentic elements like sugo di pomodoro and burrata di Puglia, while fresh pasta, wood-fired pizza, and premium cuts of tuna and steak round out the menu.

“Olivine fills a niche Auburn has been missing,” said General Manager Sloan Carter. “There’s nothing else like it—a place where you can savor a meal, take in the view, and have a truly memorable experience.” Whether guests are celebrating a milestone or simply unwinding with a sunset cocktail, Olivine sets the scene for countless moments to remember.

Amid the rooftop terrace and modern decor, there is a DJ who curates gentle background music throughout the dinner hour, rising to a more lively rhythm during the late-night hours.

Reservations are currently on OpenTable and can be made for dinner Tuesday through Saturday from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. with late-night service Friday and Saturday until 12:30 a.m. Brunch is served on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and features eggs Benedict, mascarpone pancakes, and Italian French toast.

For a fine dining experience that feels both welcoming and refined, visit Olivine to be transported to the vibrant region of Italy.
