The restaurant openings in Calgary just keep on coming, and one of the newest additions to the city is a brand-new spot offering authentic Italian countryside cuisine.
La Torino Trattoria has just opened its doors in Avenida Village, and the family-owned fine dining restaurant will be offering hand-crafted Italian dishes using traditional family recipes and locally sourced ingredients.
The name “Torino” was chosen to embody sophistication, grace, strength, and craftsmanship, qualities that are reflected throughout the restaurant’s vast menu of dishes such as handmade pizza and pasta, antipasti, and more.
Among the standout dishes are its prosciutto pizza and butternut squash ravioli.
The restaurant has been brought to life by owner Chef Binu, who moved to Canada in 2008 with just a few hundred dollars, working tirelessly over the years at spots including Buzzard Restaurant and Pub (now Bottlescrew Bill’s) and on his own venture, Simon’s Catering & Restaurant, which he launched with his family in 2021.
La Torino Trattoria is now open to the public.
